From birth to death, every human being belongs to a certain community and goes through internal and external changes. The theory of education of the Unification Thought in its explanation of the process of growth presents that although physical growth occurs naturally through time, faith development occurs through stages. The theory of education of the Unification Thought holds the educational purpose for human beings to resemble Heavenly Parent. It is advocating the importance of both ideological and methodological aspects of education to resemble Heavenly Parent in personality and form. While the educational ideology is carefully described, the educational method is insufficient. To supplement this part, this paper examines stages of growth of FFPWPU’s Theory of religious education based on the six (6) stages of James W. Fowler's theory of stages of faith development. As a result, educational stages for FFPWPU’s theory of religious education were presented as followed, based on James W. Fowler's theory of stages of faith development. For the education of heart at level 0, we have proposed the education and experience of the four great realms of heart. For the education of norm at level 1, the experience of worship services attendance, tithing, prayers, and devotions have been suggested. Finally, for the education of dominion starting from level 2, we have recommended fundraising and witnessing activities as an educational stage to resemble Heavenly Parents.

인간은 누구나 태어나서 죽을 때까지 어떠한 공동체에 소속하며 내외적인 변화 를 겪으면서 살아간다. 신체적인 성장은 시간의 흐름에 따라 자연스럽게 이루어지지 만 통일사상의 종교교육론에서 제시하는 신앙교육은 단계별로 이루어짐을 나타내고 있다. 통일사상의 종교교육론은 하늘부모님을 닮아가는 교육을 목표로 삼고 있으며 하늘부모님의 성상과 형상을 닮은 교육의 이념적 측면과 방법적인 측면 양면의 중 요성을 제시하고 있다. 교육 이념은 제시되어 있으나 교육 방법은 미흡하다. 이 부분 을 보완하기 위하여 본 논문에서는 제임스 W. 파울러의 7가지의 신앙발달 단계이론 을 토대로 가정연합의 종교교육론의 성장 단계를 고찰하였다. 그 결과 다음과 같이 가정연합의 종교교육론의 교육 단계를 다음과 같이 제시하 였다. 파울러의 신앙발달 이론에서 단계에 맞는 신앙교육을 근거로 심정교육은 0단 계부터 4대심정권을 교육 및 체휼을 제시하였다. 규범교육은 1단계부터 예배와 헌금 그리고 기도와 정성으로 체휼교육을 한다. 마지막으로 주관교육은 2단계부터 시작 하며 만물복귀와 전도를 가지고 하늘부모님을 닮아가는 교육의 단계를 제시하였다.
