The purpose of this study is to validate the flourish scale for upper elementary school students. For this study, the concept of flourish and its sub-factors were explored through the review of literature and previous studies. Six items per five factor were created for a preliminary scale. To select final items, the exploratory factor analysis and the confirmatory factor analysis were conducted for 248 elementary school students in the fourth, fifth, and sixth grades located in Seoul and Gyunggi Province. As a result, a total of 15 items from four factors were extracted and the four-factor model fit data well. Convergent/ discriminant validity and criterion validity were also checked. The validated flourish scale showed reliable psychometric properties and it consisted of positive emotions (four questions), engagement (four questions), relationship (three questions), and goal-achievement (four questions). Considering the importance of authentic happiness in positive psychology, this study is meaningful in that it developed and validated a flourish scale suitable for elementary school students in Korea.

본 연구의 목적은 초등학교 고학년용 플로리시 척도를 타당화하는 것이며, 이를 위해 문헌 및 선행연구를 검토하여 플로리시의 개념을 규명하고 하위요인을 선정한 뒤 각 요인별로 예 비문항을 개발하였다. 이어 본검사를 위한 문항을 선정하기 위해 수도권 소재 초등학교 4, 5, 6학년 학생 248명을 대상으로 탐색적 요인분석과 확인적 요인분석을 실시하였다. 최종 선정 된 총 15문항, 4개 요인에 대한 분석 결과 자료는 모형에 잘 부합되는 것으로 나타났으며 수 렴타당도, 판별타당도, 준거타당도 지표도 확인되었다. 플로리시 척도는 긍정적 감정(4문항), 몰입(4문항), 관계(3문항), 목표-성취(4문항) 요인으로 구성되어 있으며 양호한 신뢰도와 타당 도를 가지고 있다. 본 연구는 긍정심리학 관점의 진정한 행복과 관련된 플로리시 개념을 연 구하기 위해 국내 초등학생의 수준에 적합한 플로리시 척도를 제안하였다는 데 의의가 있다.
