The purpose of this study was to investigate the value of science fiction in science education. For this study, related literature reviews, focused group interviews were conducted. As searching the keywords of science, novels, science fiction, and education were used in Googling, and total of 25 articles, and web materials were selected. An expert hierarchical analysis (AHP) questionnaire was conducted to denominate the value of science fiction in science education by open coding and to derive weights for each value. Moreover, the case of education using science fiction was investigated. The results of the validity survey of 9 experts were 8.23/10 points on average and 1.87 standard deviations on values of science fiction in science education. In the comparison of weights by category, the average score for each category of the value of science education utilization of science fiction was 'Learning motivation(0.50)', 'Materials for convergence education (0.18)', 'Expansion of imagination and creativity(0.16)', and 'Experiencing the nature of science(0.10)' and 'esthetics in science(0.05)'. The results of this study are expected to be provided as basis for promoting innovation in teaching and learning, such as convergence education for science fiction and the application of science fiction classes.

이 연구는 과학문화 형성을 위해 과학교육에서 활용되는 과학소설의 장르와 특징을조사하고, 전문가 집단 조사에 기반하여 과학소설의 과학교육적 활용 가치를 분석하였다. 자료 수집은 과학, 소설, 과학소설, 교육 등을 주제어로 구글 검색하여 국내 7편, 국외 18편의 과학소설 관련 자료를 선별하고, 과학 또는 국어 교사, 과학교육 전문가, 융합교육 전문가 등으로 구성된 전문가 집단조사로 진행하였다. 개방 코딩을 통한 과학소설을 활용한 과학교육의 가치 유목화 및 가치별 가중치 도출을 위한 전문가 계층분석조사를 실시하였다. 연구결과에 따르면, 과학소설을 활용한 과학교육 가치 범주에대한 전문가의 타당도 조사 결과는 평균 8.23/10점, 표준편차 1.87로 나타났다. 그리고범주별 가중치 비교에서 과학소설의 과학교육 활용 가치의 범주별 평균점수는 ‘학습동기 유발 및 지속(0.50)’, ‘STEAM 또는 융합교육의 유용한 소재(0.18)’, ‘상상력과 창의력의 확대(0.16)’, ‘과학의 본성에 대한 학습 경험(0.10)’, ‘심미성(0.05)’ 등의 순서로 나타났다. 이 연구의 결과는 과학소설을 위한 융합교육과 과학소설의 수업 적용, 그리고그동안 소극적이었던 상상력 교육 등 교수학습 혁신을 도모하는데 기초 자료로 제공할수 있을 것으로 기대한다.
