The purpose of this research is to investigate the effect of rough tumble play program on creativity and peer competence in children aged 5 years, and to provide basic data for activating rough tumble play in a positive and systematic direction. The subject of this study were 50 five-year-old children(the experimental group of 25 and the comparison group of 25) at A and B kindergartens located in Busan. In experimental group, young children had experience of rough and tumble play once a week and the experiment period was for 12 weeks. The comparative group provided a general curriculum based on the Nuri for 12 weeks. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS 22.0 for covariance analysis (ANCOVA). The results of the study, it was found that rough and tumble play had a significant effect on children's creativity and peer competence. Through these results, this study is meaningful in that it can be applied in the field of early childhood education as a play that helps children's creativity and peer competence increase.

본 연구는 거친 신체놀이 프로그램이 만 5세 유아의 창의성과 또래 유능성에 미치는 영향을 알아보고, 이를 통해 거친 신체놀이를 긍정적이고 체계적인 방향으로 활성화하기 위한 기초자료를 제공하고자 하 는데 목적이 있다. 연구 대상은 부산광역시에 소재하고 있는 사립 A와 B유치원 만 5세반 두 학급 50명 (한 학급당 25명)의 유아이다. 실험집단은 매주 1회 총 12회 거친 신체놀이 프로그램을 제공하였고, 비교 집단은 누리과정에 기초한 교육과정을 12주 동안 운영하였다. 유아 창의성 검사와 또래 유능성 검사를 사전과 사후 실시하였고, 자료처리는 SPSS 22.0을 사용하여 공분산 분석(ANCOVA)을 실시하였다. 연 구결과, 거친 신체놀이는 유아의 창의성과 또래유능성에 유의미한 영향이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이와 같은 결과를 통하여 거친 신체놀이는 유아의 창의성과 또래유능성 증진에 도움을 주는 놀이로 유아교육 현장에서 적용가능하다는 점에 본 연구의 의의가 있다.
