Infographics design has become a scope of data journali sm since information visualization was recognized as an important element of data journalism. This study aims to discuss the usefulness of information delivery differentiat ed from the static infographics by examining the charact eristics of interactive infographics based upon the dynam ic format of information with user interaction. This study examined the overall theoretical system on interactive inf ographics. For the case analysis of this study, the interac tive infographics related to COVID-19 presented by Infog ram is a web-based infographics platform. As a result of the study, in the structural aspect of the interactive infog raphics based on the exploratory approach, information, i nformation contents, usability components, and areas of i nteraction should be adjusted so as not to disturb the im mersion in the process of navigating information because immediate information acquisition and response using rea l-time data, information visualization and user interaction are significant. In the technological aspect of the interacti ve infographics based on the exploratory approach, the ef ficient combination between information and interaction l eads to active behaviors and responses of information us ers, leading to explore information actively. Therefore, co ntext-based interaction design should be applied with rel ation and connectivity between contents to match the typ es and characteristics of information. Interactive infograp hics can show various possibilities of information deliver y as a tool for efficient communication.

정보 시각화가 데이터 저널리즘의 중요한 요소로 인식되 면서부터 인포그래픽은 데이터 저널리즘의 한 범위로 자리잡 게 되었다. 이에 본 연구에서는 사용자와의 상호작용이 강조 된 정보의 동적인 형식을 보여주는 인터랙티브 인포그래픽의 특징을 살펴봄으로써 정적인 인포그래픽과는 차별화된 정보 전달의 유용성을 논하는데 연구의 목적이 있다. 이를 위해, 인터랙티브 인포그래픽에 관한 전반적인 이론적 체계를 갖추 었고, 사례 분석대상으로는 Infogram에서 제시한 COVID-19 에 관련된 인터랙티브 인포그래픽으로 그 범주를 한정하였 다. 분석결과, 탐색적 접근방식에 기반을 둔 인터랙티브 인포 그래픽의 구조적인 측면에서는 실시간 데이터를 활용한 즉각 적인 정보 습득과 대응, 정보 시각화와 사용자와의 상호작용 이 중요한 만큼 정보의 탐색과정에서 몰입을 방해하는 요소 가 생기지 않도록 정보 콘텐츠, 사용성 구성요소, 인터랙션의 활용영역이 조절되어야 한다. 인터랙티브 인포그래픽의 기술 적인 측면을 살펴본 결과, 정보와 인터랙션의 효율적인 결합 은 정보 사용자의 능동적인 행동과 반응으로 연결되어 적극 적으로 정보 탐색을 할 수 있도록 유도한다. 따라서 정보의 유형과 특성에 부합하기 위해 콘텐츠 간의 관계성과 연결성 을 가진, 즉 콘텍스트를 고려한 인터랙션이 적용되어야 한다. 이렇듯 인터랙티브 인포그래픽은 효율적인 커뮤니케이션의 도구로서 정보전달의 여러 가능성을 보여줄 수 있을 것이다.
