In this article I investigate how the figure of the Other has changed in Kant’s Philosophy. Many contemporary philosophers criticize that, in Kantian philosophy, there is either solely the concept of ‘the lonely individuals’, or that ‘the Other is reduced into the world of the same’. I believe they are wrong, even though they may be right in some points, as they tend to see not the whole picture but fragmental aspects of Kant’s philosophy. The forms of the Other are not simple. The meaning of the Other is changing, when it relates to theoretical reason, practical reason and critical judgment. They all, however, is only one kind of things look three. We should consider them uniformly. In the times of pluralism, the relation with the Other presupposes the understanding of the it, the co-existence and the approval of its roles. However the relation with the Other is not common isomorphism but asymmetry and incommensurability. I think that Kant’s philosophy can cover these two different viewpoints. The theoretical and practical reason provides the universal principles which are the base of commonness between the Subject and the Other, while critical judgment unites the differences of the various Others and creates a relation which does not exclude them. This is the true figure of the Other in the philosophy of Kant. In the end, the goal of this article is to reveal this intersubjectivity of the Others.

이 글은 칸트철학 안에서 타자의 모습을 탐구한다. 현대의 많은 철학자들은 칸트철학 안에 '고독한 개별자', '동일자의 세계로 환원된 타자'만이 있다고 비판한다. 이들의 주장이 잘못된 것도 아니지만 그렇다고 결코 옳은 것도 아니다. 그들은 칸트철학 전체를 보지 못하고 오직 단편적인 면만을 본다. 칸트철학에서 타자의 모습은 단순하지 않다. 이론이성과 실천이성 그리고 반성적 판단력 등에서 관점이 달라짐에 따라 타자의 모습도 달라진다. 그러나 이들은 모두 한 가지 것의 세면일 뿐이다. 칸트철학에서 타자의 모습은 연속성에서 통일적으로 관찰해야만 그 모습을 제대로 볼 수 있다. 다원주의 시대인 오늘날 타자와의 관계는 우선 타자의 이해와 상호 존재와 역할을 승인하는 것이 우선되어야 할 것이다. 그러나 타자와의 관계는 공통의 동형성이 아니라 비대칭적이며 통약 불가능한 것이 현실이다. 논자는 칸트철학이 이 두 관점을 다 아우를 수 있다고 본다. 이론이성과 실천이성에서는 보편적 원리를 바탕으로 자아와 타자 사이의 공통성의 근거를 마련하고, 반성적 판단력을 통해서는 다양한 타자들의 차이를 매개함으로써 서로를 인정해주면서 배제하지 않는 관계맺음을 가능하게 해준다. 이것이 칸트철학에서 타자의 진정한 모습이다. 결국은 타자의 상호주관성을 밝히는 것이 이 논문의 목적이다.
