This study used an interpretive research method based on literature review and interviews to understand the current status of the operation of organizations related to youths with immigration backgrounds in the local community and to suggest future-oriented management and development plans of organizations supporting youths with immigration backgrounds. The institutions included in the study were the Healthy Families and Multicultural Family Support Center, Multicultural Special Class, Multicultural Critical School, and Multicultural Preparatory School located in P-city, Gyeonggi-do. As a result of the study, it was found that it was necessary to expand educational institutions and facilities capable of accommodating youth from immigration background compared to the population of immigrant background youth residing in local communities. In particular, the task of finding out-of-school youths with immigration backgrounds not found in statistics was identified as an urgent task, and the need for more effective career support along with reinforcement of the support system for youths with immigration backgrounds outside of school was required. In addition, it was proposed to establish a mechanism for reinforcing communication between the person in charge of projects and school teachers targeting young people with immigration backgrounds in the hall, and to prepare a plan for exchange and cooperation.

본 연구는 지역사회의 이주배경청소년 지원기관의 운영현황을 파악하고, 이주배 경청소년 지원기관의 미래지향적 운영 발전방안을 제시하고자 문헌고찰과 면접 에 의한 해석적 연구방법을 사용하였다. 연구대상은 특정 지역에 소재하고 있는 건강가정·다문화가족지원센터, 레인보우스쿨, 다문화특별학급, 다문화중점학교, 다문화예비학교 등이며, 이주배경청소년 지원 현황을 중심으로 이주배경청소년 지원을 위한 정책방안을 논의하였다. 연구결과 지역사회에 거주하고 있는 이주배경청소년을 수용할 수 있는 교육기 관 및 시설의 확충이 필요한 것으로 파악되었다. 특히 단순한 통계작업으로는 파악할 수 없는 학교 밖 이주배경청소년을 찾아내는 작업이 시급한 과제로 대 두되었으며, 학교 밖 이주배경청소년을 위한 지원제도의 강화와 보다 실효성있는 진로지원의 필요성이 요구되었다. 또한 지역내 이주배경청소년을 대상으로 하는 사업 담당자 및 학교 교사들의 소통을 강화하기 위한 협의체 구성과 실효 성 있는 교류⸱협력을 위한 방안 마련을 제안하였다.
