This study was conducted to investigate the effects of academic engagement, cognitive flexibility, communication competency, and academic achievement by applying PBL class to the Women's Health Nursing course for nursing students. This study was nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design. Subjects were 87 nursing college students enrolled in 4th grade in G city, and PBL classes were given to the experimental group(n=42) and lecture classes to the control group(n=45). Data collection was from April 2019 to June 2019. As a results of the study, the experimental group had a statisticaly significant increase in cognitive flexibility(t=2.75, p=.007), and communication competency(t=3.04, p=.003) compared to the control group. Finally, it was confirmed that the PBL class in the Women's Health Nursing course is a teaching-learning method that has a significant effect on improving the cognitive flexibility and communication competency of nursing college students than the lecture.

본 연구는 간호대학생에게 여성건강간호학 교과목에 PBL 수업을 적용하고, 학업열의, 인지적 유연성, 의사소통능력, 학업성취도의 효과를 규명하고자 시행하였다. 본 연구설계는 비동등성 대조군 사전사후설계이다. 대상자는 G시 소재 4학년에 재학 중인 간호대학생 87명이었으며, 실험군(42명)에게는 PBL 수업을 대조군(45명) 에게는 강의식 수업을 시행하였다. 자료수집은 2019년 4월부터 2019년 6월까지였다. 연구결과, 실험군이 대조 군에 비하여 인지적 유연성(t=2.75, p=.007), 의사소통능력(t=3.04, p=.003)이 통계적으로 유의하게 증가하였다. 본 연구결과 여성건강간호학 교과목의 PBL 수업이 강의식 수업보다 간호대학생의 인지적 유연성과 의사소통능 력을 향상시키는 데 유의한 효과가 있는 교수학습방법임을 확인하였다.
