The primary purpose of this study is to propose on teaching and learning in order to better and more effectively teach ‘determination(立志)’ and ‘integrity(淸廉)’ in the subject of . And the ultimate purpose of this study is to re-explore and re-examine Confucian values that can make our lives more mentally prosperous, and to lay the foundation for discussing the future needs. For this purpose, this study first looked at the objectives and composition of the subject, as well as its educational significance and limitations. And on this premise, this study tried to propose methods to correctly teach and learn Confucian values such as ‘determination’ and ‘integrity’, which are desperately needed to overcome the times of declining the happiness index and ethics sense of youths⋅adults. Finally, in this study, two suggestions were made for the revitalization of classical education. Through this study, I hope that our education on classics will find its place and become more active.

본 연구의 일차적인 목적은 고등학교 ｢고전과 윤리｣ 과목에 수록된 ‘입지(立志)’와 ‘청렴(淸廉)’을 보다 올바르고 효과적으로 가르치기 위한 교수⋅학습 관련 제언을 시도하는 것이다. 그리고 이를 통해 우리 삶을 정신적으로 더 윤택하게 해 줄 수 있는 유교적 가치를 발굴⋅재조명하고, 그 미래적 필요성까지 논의하기 위한 기반을 다지는 것이 본 연구의 궁극적인 목적이다. 이 목적을 위해 본 연구에서는 먼저 ｢고전과 윤리｣ 과목의 목표와 구성, 교육적 의의와 한계 등에 대해 살펴보았다. 그리고 이를 전제로 청소년⋅성인들의 행복지수 하락과 윤리의식 결여라는 시대적 상황을 타개하기 위해 절실하게 요구되는 유교적 가치인 ‘입지’와 ‘청렴’을 올바르게 교수⋅학습하기 위한 제언을 시도하였다. ⓐ 먼저 ‘입지’를 올바르게 교수⋅학습하기 위한 제언은 크게 세 가지로서, 첫 번째는 입지에 내포된 전일적 성격이나 성현을 향한 강렬한 열망 등을 직관적으로 드러내는 내용을 담은 고전 지문을 보완해야 한다는 것이고, 두 번째는 이이의 󰡔학교모범󰡕이나 󰡔성학집요󰡕 등을 활용해 입지의 치인⋅외왕적 측면을 보강해야 한다는 것이며, 세 번째는 거경과 궁리 및 이황 사상의 도식화 부분에서 발견되는 오해의 소지들을 바로 잡아야 한다는 것이다. ⓑ 이어서 ‘청렴’을 올바르게 교수⋅학습하기 위한 제언은 크게 두 가지로서, 첫 번째는 󰡔고전과 윤리󰡕 교과서에 다소 불분명하게 서술되어 있는 청렴의 함양 방법을 보충해야 한다는 것이고, 두 번째는 청렴을 수업함에 있어 다양한 교수⋅학습기법을 고려, 활용해야 한다는 것이다.
