This paper aims to analyze the errors made by Chinese learners in producing Korean diphthongs based on syllable structures and internal representation of vowels of the two languages. When Korean diphthongs input is given, Chinese learners reanalyze and adjust it based on their syllable structures and internal representation of Chinese vowels, errors have occurred in the process. The aspects of these errors can be categorized into deletion, reinterpretation, and restructuring. First, in the case of deletion, it is analyzed that short vowels or glides are eliminated in the process of substituting Korean diphthongs into the Chinese off-glide structure. Second, in the case of reinterpretation, the Korean diphthong structure was accepted, but errors are occurred due to confusion of the internal structure of vowels in the process. Finally, when all the elements constituting the Korean diphthongs are recognized, it can be analyzed that the skeletal tier and the nucleus are connected to each of the elements, resulting in errors of pronunciation as a concatenation of short vowels.

본 연구는 한국어와 중국어의 음절 구조 및 양 언어 모음의 내적 구조를 바탕으로 중국인학습자들이 산출하는 한국어 이중모음 오류에 대해 음운론적으로 분석하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 한국어 이중모음의 입력이 이루어졌을 때 중국인 학습자들은 모국어의 음절 구조와 모음의 내적 구조에 맞게 목표어인 한국어의 이중모음을 재해석하였고 이 과정에서 오류가 발생하였다. 이들 오류의 양상을 살펴보면 크게 탈락, 재해석, 재구조화로 유형화할 수 있다. 먼저 탈락의 경우는 한국어 이중모음을 중국어 하향이중모음 구조에 대입하는 과정에서 단모음 또는 활음을 탈락시키는 것으로 분석된다. 그리고 재해석의 경우는 한국어의 이중모음 구조는 받아들였으나 그 과정에서 내부 구성 모음의 혼동으로 오류가 발생한 것이다. 마지막으로 한국어의 이중모음을 구성하는 요소를 모두 인지하는 경우 각 요소들에 골격층과 음절핵이 연결되어 단모음의 연쇄인 복모음으로 발음하는 오류가 발생한 것으로 분석할 수 있다.
