The purpose of this study was to develop and validate a set of questionnaire items in order to measure the effects of the personality inventory for university students. It is necessary for university students to operate the university's personality curriculum more efficiently so that they may enhance their personality all the better. The developed 52 items measuring 7 factors were then reviewed, tested, and confirmed. The survey was conducted on 178 students, and was analyzed for reliability and validity. The results of confirmatory factor analysis indicated that these items were valid indicators of the personality inventory for university students. In addition, item discrimination, item difficulty, and the item step parameter of the graded response model were estimated. Certain implications were discovered based on the personality inventory development process, and thus future plans of making use of this tool were also discussed.

대학의 인성교육과정을 보다 효과적으로 운영하기 위해서는 학습자인 대학생이 인성의 어떤 영역에 대한 교육요구를 가지고 있는지를 파악하고 인성 교육과정이 인성을 함양하는 데 효과가 있는지를 측정할 수 있는 평가도구의 개발이 필요하다. 이에 본 연구는 대학생의 인성을 측정할 수 있는 도구를 개발하고 타당화하였다. 본 연구를 위해 선행연구와 대학의 인성교육 내용 분석을 통해 인성의 개념과 구인 및 하위 요인을 설정하고 기존의 문항과 대학의 인성교육 특성을 참조하여 다차원적인 인성을 측정하는 문항을 제작하고, K 대학 178명의 대학생을 대상으로 조사를 실시하였다. 탐색적 요인분석 결과 7개 요인, 52문항을 도출하고 신뢰도 분석 후 확인적 요인분석을 통해 대학생 인성검사 도구로서의 타당도를 검증하였다. 또한 문항반응이론에 의한 문항분석을 통해 문항의 양호도를 점검하였다. 본 인성 척도 개발 과정의 시사점 및 향후 활용 방안에 대해서도 논의하였다.
