This paper aims to discuss the ecumenical efforts and tasks of Korean-Japanese churches which have tried to build the Oikos of shalom in Northeast Asia in spite of the current disruption of Korea-Japan’s peaceful relations. On the shared value of Christ’s peace, both Christians have showed a possibility to develop a cooperative legacy with mutual understanding beyond their own nationalism and ideological narrowness. This article concerns three aspects: a theological concept of “Northeast Asian Oikos”, histories and issues of Korean-Japanese ecumenical cooperation, and tasks and prospects for their new peaceful frameworks. Louk A. Andrianos’ methodology of “the Common Oikos” will be employed to this research. He suggests three theological dimensions of oikos in order to alleviate inhumanity and conflicts in contemporary global societies: 1) oikos as one united family of God’s creation (theocentric), 2) oikos as one household under human responsibility (anthropocentric), and 3) oikos as one earthly home of all God’s creation (geocentric). On the basis of Andrianos’ concept, this paper examines the historical trajectory of both churches for justice and reconciliation after the 1965 Treaty on Basic Relations between Japan and the Republic of Korea. Both churches have dealt with crucial matters of democratization movements, peaceful reunification movements, Japan’s post-war responsibility and so on. In addition to the historical issues, this research also looks at more constructive ecumenical cooperation and areas. As the “ecumenical peace platforms,” the churches should suggest the formation of wider ecumenism in which governments and civil societies as well as Christian bodies can participate in common. In particular, the Sustainable Development Goals need to be applied to their specific methods and practices of ecumenical cooperation, a blueprint involved by all global societies and world Christians by 2030. The three cooperative spheres by the churches are argued here: 1) oikos as an environmental community, 2) oikos as a peace community, and 3) oikos as economy and justice community. For the challenges, the churches, toward sincere partnership, will contribute to the sharing of faith and life as well as the sharing of resources to resolve common problems in Northeast Asia.

본 연구는 현재 한·일 평화체제의 와해에도 불구하고, 동북아시아에 서 샬롬(shalom)의 오이코스를 실천해 온 한·일 교회의 노력과 과제를 논 의한다. 그리스도 평화를 하나의 중요한 가치로 공유하는 한·일 그리스 도인들은 민족주의와 이념적 편협성을 초월하여, 신앙에 기초한 상호 이해 를 통해 협력의 전통을 발전시킬 수 있는 가능성을 갖고 있다. 본 논문은 “동북아시아의 오이코스”를 구성하기 위한 신학적 개념, 한·일 관계의 역 사적 흐름과 쟁점, 그리고 새로운 평화 프레임을 위한 한·일 교회의 과제 와 전망을 살펴보고자 한다. 본 연구는 방법론적으로 로우크 안드리아노 스(Louk A. Andrianos)의 “공동의 오이코스” 개념을 적용한다. 안드리아 노스는 현대 지구 공동체에 내포하는 비인간화와 갈등을 해소하기 위해 신 학적 근거로써 다음과 같은 세 가지 오이코스 신학의 속성을 제시한다: 1) “하나님 창조의 연합된 가정으로서 오이코스”(신 중심적, theocentric), 2) “인간 책임성 하의 한 가계로서 오이코스”(인간중심적, anthropocentric), 3) “하나님 창조의 지구적 집으로서 오이코스”(지구 중심적, geocentric). 본 연구는 이러한 오이코스 개념을 토대로 1965년 한·일 기본조약 이 후 한일교회의 정의와 화해를 위한 만남과 구체적인 실천 과제들을 살펴본 다. 일본기독교단, 대한예수교장로회(통합), 기독교대한감리회, 한국기독 교장로회 등 한·일 교회는 상호교류를 통해서 한국 민주화 운동, 한반도 평화 통일운동, 전후책임문제 등을 다루어 왔다. 이와 같은 역사적 과제와 함께 본 연구는 더욱 건설적인 에큐메니칼 협력과 영역을 고찰한다. 한· 일 교회가 “에큐메니칼 평화 플랫폼”으로 기능하고, 기독교계뿐만 아니라, 정부와 시민사회가 함께 참여하는 확장된 에큐메니즘을 구축할 것을 제시 한다. 2015년부터 2030년까지 지구사회와 세계기독교계가 동참하고 있는 “지속가능한개발목표”(SDGs) 체제를 한·일 협력관계 방법과 영역에 적 용한다. 특별히 한·일 교회가 공동으로 협력할 수 있는 세 가지 영역을 살 펴본다. 첫째, 환경 공동체로서 오이코스, 둘째, 평화(에이레네) 공동체로 서 오이코스, 셋째, 경제와 정의 공동체로서 오이코스다. 이러한 과제를 통 해 한·일 교회는 진정한 에큐메니칼 파트너십을 추진하면서, 자원공유를 넘어 동북아시아 공동체의 문제 해결을 위한 신앙과 삶의 나눔에 기여할 것이다.
