This study investigated teaching perspectives of adult educators at lifelong learning fields in Seoul, Korea. The study used the TPI (Teaching Perspectives Inventory) developed by Dan Pratt and John Collins. The TPI consisted of 45 items questionnaire to express five different teaching perspectives; transmission, apprenticeship, developmental, nurturing, and social reform. These five teaching perspectives are translated based on respondents' action, intention, and beliefs in teaching and learning. This study assessed the teaching perspectives of adult educators and compared teaching perspectives based on respondents' social economic background such as types of school, experience of teacher, educational background, age and gender. The TPI was disseminated 440 adult educators and 269(61.1%) of them were returned. Chi-square and ANOVA were used to compare groups based on age, gender, educational background, position and so on. The most expressed teaching perspectives in the study was apprenticeship(43.5%), and then nurturing (42.8%). The result of the study showed that different teaching perspectives depends on respondents' age, educational background, and level of teaching school.

본 연구는 서울시내 평생교육기관 교수자들의 수업관점을 분석하고 교수자의 개인적 특성과 평생교육기관의 종류에 따른 수업관점의 차이를 분석하는데 그 목적이 있다. 서울시내 10개 종류의 평생교육기관을 대상으로 교육활동에 임하고 있는 교수자들의 수업관점을 진단하기 위해 John Collins와 Dan Pratt에 의해 개발된 TPI 검사지를 440개 배포하여 269개를 회수하였다. 회수된 TPI 검사지 결과는 평생교육기관 교수자들의 교육경력, 연령, 수입, 거주지, 대학에서의 전공여부에 따라 비교 분석되었다. 본 연구의 결과 평생교육기관에서 교수자로서 활동하는 응답자들은 도제형 수업관점이 가장 높게 드러났고, 양육형이 그 다음으로 높았고, 가장 거부시 되는 수업관점은 사회개혁형이었고 다음으로 개발형으로 나타났다. 평생교육기관 교수자들의 지배적인 교수유형은 교수자들의 성별과 학력, 평생교육기관의 종류에 따라 유의미한 차이를 드러냈다. 평생교육기관 교수자들의 수업성향은 응답자의 전공과 재직연한은 아무런 영향을 미치지 못한 것으로 드러났다.
