The purpose of the study is to generalize multicultural education using multicultural films for middle school students through its effect on multicultural awareness. It is very important to improve the multicultural awareness of important students along with the increase in the multicultural population today. Multicultural education is already reflected in the curriculum, but there are many problems in conducting actual classes. Starting in the 2019 school year, the ministry has been providing support for multicultural education through students, school environment, community networks and customized programs. However, there is a lack of ways to utilize multicultural education at educational sites. In other words, it is not easy to improve students' awareness of multiculturalism with curriculum-oriented classes and simple experience activities. In this regard, the study wanted to verify the effectiveness of middle school students' level of multicultural awareness by utilizing multicultural movies. The Multicultural Film Education Program consists of the 12th session. The inspection tools used in this study consisted of 32 questions in 3 areas (variety, relativity, universality). Research data analysis was used by the SPSS 24.0 program to analyze differences between groups, before and after experiments. The conclusions of this study are as follows; Multicultural education classes using movies have been effective in promoting multicultural sensitivity among middle school students. Therefore, it is necessary to apply multicultural education programs using movies to middle school education activities.

이 연구는 중학생을 대상으로 다문화 영 화를 활용한 다문화교육이 다문화 인식에 미치는 효과를 분석하고 적용하는데 목적 이 있다. 오늘날 다문화 인구의 증가와 더불어 중학생의 다문화 인식을 향상시키 는 것은 매우 중요하다. 다문화교육은 이 미 교육과정에 반영되어 있으나 실제 수 업을 진행하는데 많은 문제가 있다. 교육 부는 2019학년도부터 다문화혁신학교 정 책을 통해서 학생, 학교환경, 지역사회네 트워크, 맞춤형 프로그램을 통한 다문화 교육 지원을 하고 있다. 그러나 교육현장 에서 다문화교육을 활용할 수 있는 방안 은 부족하다. 따라서 교과수업과 체험교 육뿐만 아니라 다양한 교육활동 프로그램 을 통한 다문화교육이 필요하다. 이 연구 에서는 다문화 영화를 활용하여 중학생의 다문화인식 수준에 대한 효과를 검증하고 자 했다. 다문화 영화교육 프로그램은 12 회기로 구성되었다. 본 연구에 사용된 검 사 도구는 3개 영역(다양성, 관계성, 보편 성) 32개 문항으로 구성되었다. 연구자료 분석은 SPSS 25.0 프로그램을 사용하여 집단 간, 실험 사전-사후의 차이를 분석 하였다. 연구의 주요결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 영화를 활용한 다문화교육 프로그램은 중 학생의 다문화 다양성 증진에 효과가 있 었다. 둘째, 다문화 영화교육프로그램에 참여한 실험집단은 관계성 요인에 의미있 는 효과를 보였다. 셋째, 다문화 보편성요 인에 있어서도 유의미한 효과가 있었다. 영화를 활용한 다문화교육 수업은 중학생 의 다문화 인식을 향상시켰다. 따라서 중 학생을 대상으로 다문화 영화를 활용하는 프로그램 개발 및 적용이 필요하다.
