The purpose of the present study was to examine differences in 5 different perceptions towards traditional folk culture and traditional folk plays of elementary school students. To draw the sample for this study, 204 elementary school students were employed using convenience sampling method in Busan. However, out of the 204, 201 were finally analyzed for the study due to improper or unfinished responses. The SPSS v.25.0 were utilized for descriptive statistics, exploratory factor analysis, Cronbach's alpha, and t-test in order to verify sample characteristics, validity, reliability, and testing the hypotheses, respectively. The statistical results showed firstly that there were significant mean differences in 2 perceptions including the interest in education, and the knowledge of performances between a participant group in traditional folk play classes and a non-participant group. Second, there was no significant mean difference in any perception between a male group and a female group. Third, there were significant mean differences found in 5 perceptions between a 4th-grader group and a 5th-grader group.

본 연구는 초등학생의 민속놀이 수업 참여여부와 성별, 학년에 따른 전통민속문화 및 전통민속놀이에 대한 인 식의 차이를 살펴보고자 하였다. 이와 같은 목적을 달성하기 위해 부산시 소재 초등학교 4~5학년 학생을 모집 단으로 하였으며, 편의표집을 이용하여 204명의 표본을 추출하였다. 이 중 불성실한 응답으로 판단되는 3명의 응답을 분석에서 제외하여 최종적으로 201명의 자료를 분석하였다. 자료처리는 SPSS 25.0 프로그램을 이용하 였으며, 빈도분석, 탐색적 요인분석, Cronbach’s α계수 산출을 통해 연구대상의 특성과 조사도구의 타당도 및 신뢰도 검증을 하였으며, 가설검증을 위해 t-test를 실시하여 다음과 같은 결과를 도출하였다. 첫째, 민속놀이 수업 참여여부에 따라 전통민속문화 중 교육에 대한 관심은 참여자가 높게 나타났으며, 전통민속놀이 중 공연 지식에 대한 인식은 미참여자가 높은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 성별에 따라서는 전통민속문화 및 전통민속놀이 인식이 유의한 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 학년에 따라서는 전통민속문화 및 전통민속놀이이 인식이 모두 4학년이 5학년보다 높게 나타났다. 이와 같은 결과는 현재의 민속놀이 수업이 초등학생들의 전통민속문 화 및 전통민속놀이에 대한 인식을 높이지 못하는 것을 알 수 있다. 따라서 초등학생들의 발달단계 및 흥미 그 리고 수업환경 등을 고려한 민속놀이 수업이 진행될 필요가 있다.
