This study is a cult movie through the storytelling about the original contents of the book "Ancient Clockwork Orange" by Anthony Bergis, a classic human novel, and it‘s a dance drama that combines drama elements with tempoary dance. The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between the re - birth 'Tanztheater' expression technique and 'Intermediality' For this study, we analyze the precedent and the theoretical background of the Tanztheater and the comprehensive Intermediality created by the Rudolf von Laban, a pioneer of German expressionist dance, by analyzing narrative composition and appeal elements of storytelling. In addition, from the viewpoint of OSMU (one source multi use) the narrative analysis of original novels, films, and Tanztheater dramas are categorized into 21 original, 39 movie, and 25 tanztheater We examined the process of conversation between telling and plot, and examined the symbol of individual expression and its symbolic meaning from the viewpoint of 'Synthetic intermediality'. In Tanztheater the storyteller of 'Synthetic intermediality’ is a dancer. The dancer fuses the message to be conveyed with various physical languages such as dance movement, gesture, mime, and stage art such as image media, stage media, costume, and props, It can be said that the audience finally accepts the textual symbols and messages of dance through the transition process of the media. 본 연구는 인문고전 소설인 앤서니 버지스 원작 ‘시계태엽 오렌지’ 원천 콘텐츠에 대한 스토리텔링을 통해 컬트적 영화로, 템포러리 댄스에 연극적 요소가 결합된 무용극으로 각각의 향유 구도와 예술적 장르를 달리하며 재탄생한 ‘탄츠테아터’ 표현기법과 ‘상호 매체성’과의 연관 관계를 연구하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 스토리텔링의 서사 구성 및 소구 요소별 분석과 독일 표현주의 무용의 개척자인 ‘루돌프 폰 라반’에 의해 창시된 탄츠테아터(Tanztheater)와 종합적 상호매체성에 대한 선행 연구사례 및 이론적 배경을 분석하였다. 또한 OSMU (one source multi use)적 관점에서 콘텐츠별 특성과 더불어 원작소설과 영화, 탄츠테아터 무용극의 내러티브 분석을 통해 원작 21개, 영화 39개, 탄츠테아터 25개의 시퀀스로 분류하여 각각의 스토리텔링과 플롯의 변환과정을 살펴보고 ‘종합적 상호매체성’ 관점에서 개별적 표현기호와 그 상징적 의미에 대해 고찰해 보았다. 탄츠테아터에서 ‘종합적 상호매체성’의 스토리텔러는 무용수이다. 무용수는 전달하고자 하는 메시지를 춤동작, 제스쳐, 마임 등 다양한 신체적 언어들과 함께 영상과 음향의 미디어 매체, 무대장치, 의상, 소품 등의 무대미술과 융합하고, 각각의 예술매체별 상호작용, 즉 상호매체성의 전이과정을 통해서 최종적으로 무용의 텍스트적 기호와 메시지를 관객들에게 수용케 하는 것이라 할 수 있다. 본 연구 과정을 통해 탄츠테아터로 공연된 <시계태엽 오렌지>작품이 추구한 매체간의 융합과 분절, 해체와 결합, 변이성과 상징성의 ‘종합적 상호매체성’ 표출은 새로운 퍼포먼스의 예술구도로 탄츠테아터 작품의 몰입도와 심미적 가치에 대한 지속적인 탐구 가능성을 재확인해 주는 계기가 되었다.
