The purpose of this study is to examine the perceived attitude and support demand of Gwangju people for foreign workers in Gwangju. This study conducted surveys and interviews with foreign workers in Gwangju in September, 2017. The results of the study are as follows. First, as a result of analyzing the foreign workers' perception attitude of Gwangju people, the longer they stayed in Korea or Gwangju, the higher the negative perception toward Gwangju. Second, foreign workers showed high demand for support in Vietnam or the Philippines, where Gwangju residence rate is high by country, and demand is high in case of marriage, marriage immigrant, and housewife. Third, as a result of the correlation analysis, it was found that the higher the perception attitude of the foreign workers to the people of Gwangju, the more the need for the support institutions and the user satisfaction and support demand is felt. As a result, the number of foreign workers in Gwangju city is expected to increase continuously, and it is increasingly possible for local communities to enter a multicultural society. Therefore, it is expected that Gwangju City should propose a Gwangju Multicultural Roadmap so that multicultural society can be settled well in preparation for future multicultural society.

이 연구의 목적은 광주거주 외국인노동자를 대상으로 광주시민에 대한 인식태도 와 지원수요를 고찰하는데 있다. 연구방법은 2017년 9월 광주거주 외국인노동자를 대상으로 실시한 설문조사와 면접조사에 근거하고 있다. 연구결과를 살펴보면 다음 과 같다. 첫째, 외국인노동자의 광주시민인식태도에 대한 분석결과, 한국거주나 광 주거주기간이 길어질수록 광주에 대한 부정적인 인식태도가 높아지는 것으로 나타 났다. 둘째, 출신국가별로 광주거주비율이 높은 베트남이나 필리핀 출신 외국인노동 자의 경우 지원수요에 대한 요구가 높은 것으로 나타났다. 또한 외국인 결혼자나 결 혼이민자, 전업주부 등의 경우도 지원수요에 대한 요구가 높은 것으로 나타났다. 셋 째, 상관분석결과, 외국인노동자들의 광주시민에 대한 인식태도가 높을수록 지원기 관 및 이용기관의 만족도와 지원수요에 대한 필요성을 실감하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 결과적으로 향후 광주시는 외국인노동자가 지속적으로 증가할 것으로 예상되고 있는 상황에서 지역사회도 다문화사회로 전환될 가능성이 높아지고 있다. 따라서 광 주시는 향후 다문화사회 도래에 대비하여 지역사회에 다문화사회가 잘 정착될 수 있 도록 '광주형 다문화 로드맵'을 구축하여 제시해야 할 것으로 생각된다.
