The purpose of this research is to identify the perception of safety education in physical education for elementary schools teachers. To achieve this goal, data are collected by elementary school teachers in G-city and C-namdo areas using the Google questionnaire, and the conclusions obtained by analyzing the data are summarized as below. First, elementary schools teachers are not satisfied with the current instructions of safety education, except for three of the 16 factors involved in physical safety education even though they think safety education is important. Second, elementary school teachers respond that ‘safety consciousness of students and teachers’ and ‘adequacy of sporting goods’ are the most important factors in preventing safety accidents, and the highest level of satisfaction(or performance) factors is ‘student’s safety awareness’, ‘completion of the teacher’s safety education course’, and ‘emotionally safe learning environment’. Third, the 'coping ability in emergency situation for students’ is found to be low importance and satisfaction factor among the student’s factors, but the rest of five factors are well educated in order to prevent safety accidents. Fourth, it is found that 'safety-related knowledge', 'coping ability in emergency situations', and 'teaching method' were lower satisfaction factor than the high importance factor, which are required intensive improvement efforts to improve. Fifth, it is found that 'sports facilities' and 'sporting goods' are lower satisfaction factors than their high importance factor, which are required intensive improvement efforts to improve.

이 연구의 목적은 초등학교 교사들의 체육 안전교육에 대한 인식을 규명하는 데 있다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위 해 G광역시 및 C남도 지역에 소재한 초등학교 교사들을 대상으로 Google 설문 조사 방법으로 자료를 수집한 후, SPSS 통계 패키지를 활용하여 IPA분석을 실시하여 얻은 결론을 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 초등학교 교사들은 체육 안전교육과 관련된 전체 요인(16개) 중 3개 요인을 제외하고는 중요하게 생각하는 것만큼은 현재 자신의 안전 교육 지도에 만족하고 있지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 초등학교 교사들은 ‘학생의 안전의식’, ‘교사의 안전의식’, ‘체육 수업 용⋅기구의 적절성’ 요인을 안전사고 예방을 위해 가장 중요도가 높은 요인이라고 응답하였고, 만족도가 높은 요인은 ‘학생의 안전의식’, ‘교사의 안전교육 이수’, ‘정서적으로 안전한 수업 분위기’ 요인이었다. 셋째, 학생 요인 중 ‘응급상황 발생 시 학생들의 대처능력’ 요인은 중요도와 만족도가 낮게 나타났으나, 나머지 5개 요인들에 대한 만족도는 높게 나타났다. 넷째, 교사 요인 중 ‘안전관련 지식’, ‘응급상황시 대처능력’, ‘지도방법’ 등은 높은 중요도에 비해 낮은 만족도를 보인 항목으로 집중적인 개선 노력이 필요한 것으로 나타났다. 다섯째, 수업환경 요 인 중 ‘체육 시설의 적절성’과 ‘체육 수업 용⋅기구의 적절성’ 등은 높은 중요도에 비해 낮은 만족도를 보인 항목으 로 집중적인 개선 노력이 필요한 것으로 나타났다.
