Traditionally, Christian education curriculum has been understood as something that a Christian teacher teaches for Christian students. However, since an important main agent of Christian education is parents according to the biblical approach, curricula for Christian parents of school-age children through which Christian parents can nurture their children on the basis of Christian viewpoints should be central in Christian education. Especially, in this country where the importance of academic achievement is emphasized, a curriculum is necessary for Christian parents of ‘students’ specifically, rather than for Christian parents in general. This study was undertaken to design a curriculum for Christian parents of students that helps Christian parents establish their own identity and practice their own role as Christian parents. The content and character of the curriculum for Christian parents of students depend on the developmental stages of the parents, which are deeply related to their children’s age and stages of development. This study suggests a curriculum for Christian parents of students based on the developmental stages of parents proposed by Galinsky, in the light of the Christian parents’ relationship structures, including their relationship with God, their own self, their spouse, and their children, with education/study, with schools, teachers, and other parents, and with God's Kingdom.

전통적으로 기독교교육에서 있어서 교육과정은 교사가 학생에게 가르쳐야 하는 내용으로 이해되어 왔다. 그러나 기독교교육의 중요한 주체가 부모이고, 부모가 자녀를 기독교적 가치관으로 잘 양육할 수 있도록 부모를 세우는 부모교육과정은 기독교교육과정의 중심이 되어야 한다. 더욱이 자녀의 학업이 중요시되는 이 사회 속에서는 기독학부모로서의 역할을 건강하게 감당하도록 돕는 기독학부모교육과정이 요청된다. 본 연구는 기독교교육에 있어서 부모의 중요성에 주목하면서, 그들을 기독교학부모의 정체성을 지니고 기독학부모로서의 역할을 제대로 감당할 수 있도록 세우는 기독학부모교육과정을 개발하기 위한 것이다. 기독학부모교육과정은 어떤 연령대의 자녀를 둔 부모인가에 따라 그 내용과 성격이 다를 수밖에 없다. 자녀의 발달에 따라 부모도 발달하게 되는데 이러한 변화하는 자녀들을 기독교적 관점으로 올바르게 교육하기 위해서는 부모발달단계에 맞는 기독학부모교육과정이 개발될 필요가 있는 것이다. 본 연구는 갈린스키의 부모발달단계에 근거한 기독학부모교육과정을 제시하되, 기독학부모의 관계구조, 즉, 하나님, 자신, 자녀, 교육(학업), 가족(배우자), 학교(교사), 다른 학부모, 하나님 나라와의 관계에 비추어 교육내용을 제안한다.
