This study focuses on the activities of the cartoonist Chae-Joon, who painted political cartoons on Chongryon bronzes. This study also focuses on the art world of Korea after the liberation from Japan (1945-60). Despite the recent surge in Korean studies, research focusing on 'art' is still lacking. For example, in comparison with the diaspora of literary studies of Japan, research on art is still in its infancy. In addition, Korean research on Korean art has solely concentrated on painting, thus there is little to no research on Korean comics in Japan. .In this paper, we will try to verify the role of political cartoons after political liberation through the works of Chae-Joon, a representative political cartoonist of Korean society. This study has tried to reproduce the art world of Japan after liberation, by focusing on the political cartoons of Chae-Joon, the cultural movements of the literary dynasties, and the dynamic triangulation of the Japanese proletarian art movements.

이 연구는 조련 및 총련의 기관지에 정치만화를 그렸던 ‘채준(蔡峻)’의 활동에 초점을 맞추어, 해방 후(1945-60년) 재일조선인 미술계를 조망한 것이다. 본 논문에서는 재일조선인 조 직과 연계된 미술단체의 활동 내역을 살피고, 채준의 정치만화를 통해서 재일조선인 미술계 의 새로운 일면을 밝히고자 했다. 채준은 총련의 대표적인 정치만화가로 40년이 넘도록 정치 만화를 그렸다. 본 논문에서는 1959년 조선민보사에서 발행한 『채준정치만화집』과 1990년 조선신보사의『채준풍자화집』에 수록된 작품들을 대상으로 하여, 채준이 어떠한 의제로 만화 를 그렸는지를 살펴보았다. 채준의 정치만화를 중심에 두고, 재일조선인 미술단체의 활동, 그리고 일본 프로레타리아 미술운동의 관계를 들여다봄으로써 해방 이후 재일미술계를 세부적 으로 들여다 보고자 했다.
