This article reflects on the direction of Christian Education in the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The Fourth Industrial Revolution affects the lives of all humanity. The new technologies, including Artificial Intelligence(AI), Internet of Things(IoT), Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, 3D Printing, Drones, Biotechnology, and Robotics, are standing before us. The revolution has two sides: it offers both crisis and opportunity. It can be either a crisis or opportunity, depending on how we deal with this new revolution. It is the same situation in Christian Education. We can transform the crisis into an opportunity when we identify and analyze the characteristics and direction of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. In this respect, this article identifies the nature of the revolution as automation and connectivity and describes upcoming trends such as measuring learning, blended learning designs, redesigning learning spaces, and deeper learning. In educational technology, it expects the introduction and utilization of BYOT(bring your own technology), learning analytics and adaptive learning, augmented and virtual reality, makerspaces, and affective computing. These trends and educational technologies will lead to the revolution of educational curriculum in the contents, methods, and spaces of learning. The content can not be fixed knowledge but procedural knowledge that can be acquired in the process of understanding, comparing, criticizing the information and knowledge and discovering a creative idea within complicated problems. In addition, the content includes social and emotional skills. In the spaces of learning, we pay attention to blended learning, which includes online learning with various platforms and off-line learning with face-to-face meetings. This article reflects on the objective, content, space, and method of Christian Education within the trends, technologies, and curriculum of The Fourth Industrial Revolution. Christian education aims to cultivate creative Christian who possess ‘transformative knowing‘ and ‘compassionate competence.‘ Also, it provides for the application of ubiquitous learning and blended learning and it redesigns integrated experiences of the two kinds of learning in the spaces and methods of Christian Education.

본 논문은 4차 산업혁명 시대의 기독교교육의 방향에 관한 고찰이다. 4차 산업혁명은 삶의 전 영역에 변화를 일으키고 있다. 인공지능을 비롯한 사물인터넷, 가상현실, 증강현실, 3D프린팅, 드론, 바이오기술, 로봇틱스 등 4차 산업혁명의 새로운 기술들이 우리 앞에 다가왔다. 그 변화와 혁신은 위기와 기회라는 동전의 양면과도 같다. 어떻게 준비하느냐에 따라 위기 또는 기회가 될 수 있다. 기독교교육의 현장도 동일하다. 4차 산업혁명의 특성과 방향을 이해하고, 분석하고, 대처할 때, 우리는 위기를 기회로 삼을 수 있다. 이에 4차 산업혁명의 특성을 이해할 필요가 있다. 본 논문은 4차 산업혁명을 자동화와 연결성의 특성으로 규명하고, 그 특성 안에서의 교육 트렌드와 기술을 살펴본다. 특별히 4차 산업혁명의 단기와 중기 트렌드로 학습측정, 혼합학습 설계, 학습공간의 재설계, 심층학습의 도입을 예측하고, 교육기술은 BYOT(Bring Your own Technology), 학습 분석과 적응 학습(Learning Analytics and Adaptive Learning), 증강현실과 가상현실(Augmented and Virtual Reality)의 기술, 메이커스페이스(Makerspaces)의 공간 변화, 감성컴퓨팅(Affective Computing)의 도입과 활용을 기대한다. 이러한 트렌드와 교육기술은 4차 산업혁명의 교육과정의 변화를 일으킨다. 이에 본 논문은 학습내용, 학습공간, 학습방법으로 범주화하여 설명한다. 학습내용은 지식과 정보가 고정된 지식이 아니라 지식과 정보의 형성과 발전, 이해와 비평과 같은 절차적 지식이 된다. 또한 인간의 공감 능력의 상실로 오히려 사회·정서 기능(social and emotional skills)의 역량이 주요한 학습내용이 된다. 더욱이 학습공간은 다양한 플랫폼을 제공하는 온라인 학습과 면대면의 오프라인 학습이 결합된 블렌디드 러닝이 주목받게 될 것이다. 4차 산업혁명의 교육 트렌드, 기술, 교과과정은 기독교교육의 미래방향에 단서를 제공한다고 보며, 그것에 근거한 기독교교육의 목적과 학습내용, 학습공간과 학습방법을 고찰한다. 이에 변화와 혁신의 시대에서 다양한 지식, 정보, 문화, 세계관을 비판하고, 분석하며, 성찰하고, 선택하고, 창의적인 대안을 찾을 수 있는 역량을 가진“창의적 그리스도인”으로 양성하는 것이 기독교교육의 목적이며 사명이다. 창의적 그리스도인의 양성을 위해서 교육 내용은 서술적 지식이 아닌 변형적 앎(transformative knowing)과 연민의 역량(compassionate competence)이 되어야 한다. 또한 기독교교육의 학습공간과 방법으로는 유비쿼터스의 학습공간, 블렌디드 학습공간, 그리고 통합적 경험을 위한 설계를 제안한다.
