The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of sports club league on basic psychological needs and exercise persistence, school life satisfaction of elementary school students. One hundred forty-two(142) fifth and sixth grade students from Y elementary school participated in the study. Seventy(70) students participated in the sports club league, Seventy-two(72) students did not participate in the sports club league. They were selected with the consent of students and homeroom teachers. To assess basic psychological, exercise persistence, School Life Satisfaction a questionnaire was used. Data were analyzed by ANCOVA at the level of significance .05. The results of the study were as follows: First, participation students scored significantly higher with regards to basic psychological needs, exercise persistence and school life satisfaction than the non participation. In conclusion, A variety of intramural and suburban sports club league will be effective in increasing basic psychological needs, exercise persistence and school life satisfaction of elementary school students. This study suggest that the direction of the running of sports club should be changed by activating various sports club league.

이 연구는 스포츠클럽 리그대회가 초등학생들의 기본적 심리욕구, 운동지속, 학교 만족도에 어떠한 영향을 미치는 지 알아보는데 연구의 목적이 있다. 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위하여 스포츠클럽 활동에 참여하고 있는 Y초등학교 5-6학년 학생 142명 중 리그대회 참여 학생 70명, 참여하지 않은 학생 72명을 학생과 담임교사의 동의하에 연구 의 대상자로 선정하였다. 연구대상자들을 대상으로 기본적 심리욕구, 운동지속, 학교생활 만족도는 질문지를 활용 하여 스포츠클럽 리그대회가 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위하여 유의수준 .05 수준에서 공분산 분석을 실시하여 분석 하였다. 연구결과 기본적 심리욕구, 운동지속, 학교 만족도 모두 참여 학생들이 비 참여 학생들보다 유의하게 더 높 게 나타났다. 결론적으로 다양한 교내⋅외 스포츠클럽리그대회가 학생들에게 체육의 기본적 심리욕구, 운동지속, 학교생활 만족도에 긍정적인 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 이에 다양한 스포츠클럽 리그대회 활성화를 통하여 스 포츠클럽 운영 방향의 전환이 이루어지기를 제안한다.
