This paper has been revised according to the Korean translation of " Zainichi’s Responsible Decision-Making for “Live Along With” as Glocal Citizen: Follow the Changing Process of “National Identity Education” in Zainichi "(Tokyo Gakugei University bulletin, January 2018) published by the author in Japanese. This paper aims to trace the transition process of the "ethnic education" of Korean residents in Japan (Zainichi) and to investigate the fact that they began to selectively initiate‘ live along with’ Japanese society in a situation with many social restrictions. Until now, this problem has been dealt with from the principle assimilation into the majority and the ethical dimension under the premise that 'multicultural symbiosis' is good for all. Symbiosis was the mainstream premise that multiple "groups" live together. In this research rather than considering "cohabitation" as simple physical co-existence, we explore how individuals freed from collective attributes may establish and develop their role in a multi-cultural society. In this article, with that in mind, we follow the transition process of the 'ethnic education' of Zainichi trying to foster collective attributes - homogeneity (identity). I will explore how the Zainichi are released from collective attributes to mature as an individual. In addition, the universal requirement that minorities and Japanese residents who ‘live along with’ in Japanese society has a key role in the symbiosis of the Zainichi community in Japan. The role that minorities must play in realizing a symbiotic, multicultural society will also be explored. The data used in this paper is from "the Report of 2015 Overseas Koreans Foundation" (Overseas Koreans Foundation, March 2017).

이 논문은 필자가 2018년1월에 일본어로 발표한 「在日コリアンの‘共生に生きる’と いう主体的選択（Ⅰ）」（東京学芸大学紀要、2018年1月）의 한국어 번역문에 수정 가필한 것이다. 이 연구의 목적은 재일 코리안의 「민족교육」과 그 주변상황의 변천과정을 고찰 하여 사회적 제한이 많았던 상황 속에서 일본사회 속에서의 공생을 주체적으로 선택하게 되는 동포들의 움직임에 대해 규명하려는 것이다. 지금까지 ‘다문화공생’은 바르고 좋은 것이라는 전제 아래 마조리티의 제도, 윤리적 차원에서 이 문제를 취급해왔다. 또, 공생이란 복수 집단이 함께 사는 것을 의미한다는 생각이 주류를 이루어왔다. 이 연구에서는 공생을 배타적 속성으로 감싸고 있는 「집단」 끼리의 단순한 물리적 동거가 아니라 집단적 속성에서 해방된 주체적 「개인」의 상호작용 에서 성립, 발전해간다고 보고 있다. 이 연구에서는 그러한 점을 염두에 두고 집단적 속성―동질성（정체성）육성을 중시해 온 재일코리안의 「민족교육」과 그 주변상황의 변천과정 속에서 재일코리안이 어떻게 집 단적 속성에서 해방되고 주체적 개인으로 성숙해왔는지를 밝히려 했다. 또, 일본사회의 마이너리티·재일코리안의 공생사회에의 참여와 공헌 가능성을 찾아봄으로써 공생사회 의 실현을 위해서는 마이너리티의 일정한 역할도 필요하다는 보편적 요구에 대한 답의 소재를 탐색하기로 한다. 참고로, 이 글에서 사용하는 데이터는 2016년 필자등이 수행한 「2015재외동포재 단 조사연구용역 재일동포 민족교육 실태심화조사 및 정책방향의 제시」（재외동포재단 2017.3.）에서 빌려온 부분이 많다.
