Korean society is rapidly transforming into a multi-cultural society. Therefore interactive cultural contents is required in order to prevent various kinds of social conflicts which occur in course of fast social transformations. Recently cultural exchange between Korea and Vietnam is very active raising the need for a mutual understanding of each country’s culture. From 2014 the Vietnamese language has been among the options for the test of the second foreign language in the Scholastic Ability Test for university admission which underlines the high need of proficiency in Vietnamese in Korea. However, in the current education field of Vietnamese not only space, time and education contents of good quality are lacking. There is, moreover, a general low interest of students to learn Vietnamese. This is a chronic problem affecting other languages in the second foreign language group as well. Therefore, this study is, first of all, an attempt to raise the interest for the Vietnamese language. In the present study Chungnam Foreign Language High School, Kwonsun High School and the high school attached to the College Of Education of Konkuk University have been chosen for investigating the curriculum of Vietnamese language education and for analyzing preceding research data of second language education. In order to figure out the demand in the real language education field, I conducted a survey of students who learn Vietnamese at Chungnam Foreign Language High School. The results show that students have more interest in an education environment that uses words and sentences than a grammatical approach. Furthermore interviews with Vietnamese language teachers at the above-mentioned high schools were carried out. It turned out that the teachers want to utilize various methods to raise the student’s interest. Therefore a teaching model was developed and applied to the real Vietnamese language education field of Chungnam Foreign Language High School. Language education has a high effect when it combines information on the cultural background and media data. Besides active language education, however, we have to develop a perspective on interactive culture. This is key to affect the progress between the countries of Vietnam and Korea.

우리 사회에 빠르게 퍼져가는 다문화 사회로의 진입은 자민족우월주의 에서 벗어나 각 나라의 문화를 배려하고 존중하는 상호문화주의적 관점의 문화콘텐츠가 얼마나 절실한 상황인가를 잘 보여준다. 최근 활발히 교류되 고 있는 한국과 베트남의 문화에도 이와 같은 관점이 요구된다. 이러한 시점에서, 2014학년도 대학수학능력시험에 제2외국어 과목으로 베트남어가 시행이 되었다는 것은 베트남어에 대한 사회적 요구가 높음을 알 수 있는 대목이다. 그러나 그 수요에 비해 중·고등학생들의 베트남어 학습 공간 및 시수, 양질의 교육 콘텐츠 제공 등이 부족한 실정이다. 또한 타 제 2외국어군의 고질적 문제인 학생들의 낮은 흥미도 또한 베트남어 교육에 어려움이 되고 있다. 본 연구는 베트남어를 제 2외국어로 학습하는 청소년 을 대상으로 베트남어 수업시간이 흥미롭고 유익할 수 있도록 다양한 콘텐 츠를 활용한 수업 모형을 개발하고자 현재 개발되어진 베트남어 교과서와 연계학습 교재를 살펴보고 충남외국어고등학교 베트남어 교육현장에서 실제 사례를 살펴보고자하였다.
