A Study on the Management Model of Autonomy and Creativity : Focus on the Human-centered Productivity

This study aims to propose the theoretical background of the human-centered productivity and its practical management model. The philosophy of the human-centered productivity seeks for autonomy, fairness as a way to respect the autonomy, and happiness as the ultimate goal. In this study, autonomy is a source of creativity while creativity and innovation are a driving force of productivity. This study also proposes various empirical results that show the happier employees would generate the more enhanced creativity and productivity. This study proposed Stafford Beer's Viable System Model as a reference model to practice the human-centered productivity. Measures for management models are presented such as autonomous MBO(Management by Objective) system, minimum control system, creative innovation system, and participative policy-making system. Employees will achieve the higher level of creativity and productivity for happiness, and their desire to organizational objective will be linked productivity level by getting rid of command-based hierarchical structure and implementing viability-based view point with participation and communication.
