This study examines whether reflective peer-activity is performed cooperatively and what kind of cooperative learning is acquired, based on data consisting of learners’ reflections. The major findings are as follows. Firstly, learners perceive peer-activity as containing "five essential elements of cooperation (equality, interactivity, creativity, learning in process, and reciprocity)", all of which show that their activity was performed cooperatively. Secondly, learners regard the significance of reflection as consisting of four categories: 1) self/other recognition, introspection and improvement; 2) reconfirmation of the learning process and achievements; 3) visualization of experience and thought; 4) awareness of the learning purpose, planning of learning. In addition, it was determined what learners had learned during the process of reflection. Thirdly, cooperative learning is possible by reflection which is stimulated by peers who built a social relationship around the peer-activity. These findings indicate that reflective peer-activity provides learners with the opportunity for cooperative learning, and prompts learner autonomy.

본고에서는 피어 러닝(협동 학습)을 도입한 일본어 수업실천에 있어 내성적 피어활동이 협동적으로 이루어졌는지, 어떠한 협동적 배움이 있었는지를 학습자의 내성에 의거하여 분석, 고찰하였다. 그 결과를 정리하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 학습자가 내성적 피어활동에 대해 협동의 주요 개념요소(대등·대화·창조·프로세스·호혜성)가 갖추어진 활동으로 인식하였으며, 이를 통해 피어활동이 협동적으로 운영되었다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 둘째, 학습자는 내성활동의 의의로서 [자기·타자인식, 반성·개선], [학습과정·성과의 재확인], [사고·경험의 가시화], [학습목표의 의식화, 학습의 계획화] 등을 도출하였고, 내성내용을 통해 어떤 종류의 배움을 얻었는지를 알 수 있었다. 셋째, 위와 같은 학습자들의 배움은 타인과의 상호작용으로 구축된 사회적 관계 속에서 자신의 내면을 성찰함으로써 얻어질 수 있다는 점에서, 협동적 배움이 이루어졌다는 것을 밝힐 수 있었다. 이와 같은 긍정적 결과를 통해 내성적 피어활동이 협동적 배움의 장을 제공하여 ‘타인과 함께 스스로 배우는’ 자율적·주체적 학습을 지원, 촉진하는데 기여한다는 시사를 얻을 수 있었다.
