The purposes of this study were to measure elementary teachers' satisfaction with practical arts instruction and to analyze the relationship between teachers’ instructional satisfaction of practical arts and related variables in elementary schools. For this purpose, this study investigated and diagnosed the variables related to instructional satisfaction of elementary school teachers in practical arts class and analyzed differences of the level of satisfaction of practical arts class of elementary school teachers following key variables. The following conclusion was derived according to the major outcomes of the study. First, the satisfaction level of practical arts class of elementary school teachers was rather high. Second, the teacher's instructional satisfaction with practical arts class was higher when the ratio of practical class was higher. Third, according to the general characteristics of the teachers, the satisfactory levels of teachers who live in town were higher than those of who live in middle and small city and rural areas. Fourth, satisfaction of elementary school teachers' practical arts class is best explained by the teaching ability among related variables. Based on the results of this study, it is suggested as follows. First, it is required to develop teacher training corse about practical arts and systemed education program. Second, financial assistances should be supported so that school gardens can be constructed when establishing the school environment. Third, there is a need for a study of various methods for increasing the interest of the principals and parents about practical arts. Lastly, it would be very meaningful if a follow up study comes out to investigate the unsatisfactory factors of practical arts by investigating the satisfaction of elementary school teachers' practical arts class periodically.

이 연구는 초등학교 교사의 실과 수업만족도를 측정하여 관련된 변인을 구명하고, 초등학교 교사의 실과 수업만족도와 관련된 변인들의 영향력을 분석하고자 수행되었다. 이를 위해 초등학교 교사의 실과 수업만족도와 관련 변인을 조사, 분석하였고, 주요 변인에 따른 실과 수업만족도의 차이가 어떠한지 분석하였다. 이 연구를 통해 얻은 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 초등학교 교사의 실과 수업만족도는 다소 높은 편이었고 교사와 학생의 상호작용, 학생의 학습 흥미도, 학생의 수업 태도 및 참여 등에서 높은 평균을 보였다. 둘째, 실습수업의 비율이 높은 수업을 운영할수록, 학생주도적인 수업을 할수록 교사의 실과 수업만족도가 높았다. 셋째, 교사의 일반적 특성에 따라서 학교 소재 지역이 대도시인 교사가 중소도시 및 읍면이하 지역인 교사보다 실과 수업에 더 만족하였으며 일반학교에 근무하는 교사가 혁신학교에 근무하는 교사보다 실과 수업에 더 만족하였다. 넷째, 초등학교 교사의 실과 수업만족도는 관련 변인 가운데 교사의 교수능력에 의해 가장 잘 설명된다. 이와 같은 연구 결과를 바탕으로 제언을 하면 첫째, 실과교과 교사 연수와 체계화된 교사 교육 프로그램 개발이 요구된다. 둘째, 학교의 환경을 조성할 때 교재원이 구축될 수 있도록 재정적 지원이 뒷받침되어야 한다. 셋째, 교육의 주체인 학교 관리자 및 학부모의 실과교육에 대한 관심을 높이기 위한 여러 방안에 대한 연구가 필요하다. 마지막으로, 교사의 실과 수업만족도를 주기적으로 연구하여 불만족 요인을 탐색하는 후속 연구가 이루어진다면 의미 있는 연구가 될 것이다.
