In this paper we demonstrate how two students(in high school R&E program) are reasoning to get mathematical results in their research to find the existence of solution(ordered pairs) to the modified Wythoff game changed some of the conditions of a traditional Wythoff game, and found mathematical properties. The students created a solution algorithm and derived the facts that can be found in the features and solution order arrays of the solution, resulting in 3 lemmas, 3 corollaries and 3 theorems. However, when a particular solution fails to attain complete proof, they have attempted a roundabout solution through an experimental verification method. By completing the proofs of the three theorems, they are ready to continue the challenge to draw a new theorem even though they have passed through the verifier of the accident. This is an empirical example that shows that creative thinking processes are more interactive and repetitive than linear, and that they are going through a subtle manipulation phase that has further refined the stages of the preparation.

본 연구는 고등학교 R&E 프로그램에 참여한 2명의 학생들이 변형 Wythoff 게임의 해법(순서쌍 배열)이 존재함을 증명하고 그 배열의 규칙에서 발견할 수 있는 수학적 성질을 이론적으로 탐구해 가는 과정을 면담/관찰한 사례 보고를 목적으로 한다. 학생들은 해법 알고리즘을 만들고 그 해법의 특징과 해법 순서쌍 배열에서 발견할 수 있는 사실들을 도출한 결과 3개의 보조정리와 3개의 따름 정리, 그리고 3개의 정리를 이끌어 내었다. 하지만 그들은 특정한 해법이 완전한 증명에 이르지 못하자 실험적 검증 방식을 통해 우회적인 해법을 시도하였다. 이미 3개의 정리에 대한 증명을 완성함으로써 사고의 검증기를 충분히 거쳤음에도 새로운 정리를 이끌어내기 위한 도전을 계속해 나갈 새로운 준비를 하고 있는 것이다. 이는 창의적 사고과정은 직선적이라기보다는 상호 작용적이며 반복적인 것이라고 말하며 준비기의 단계를 보다 세분했던 교묘한 조작 단계를 지나고 있음을 보여주는 한 가지 실증적 사례로 볼 수 있다.
