Space storytelling leads that people visit certain place. Space storytelling means that finds of the story of a place and gives a new story the space. Many people came to the place where has a story, and they would be impressed by the story of that. They also could experience new things in there. In particular, based on the local culture, storytelling method can ask more people for their active participation and support in sightseeing. Because the experience of the local culture makes the place more attractive. In this study, we focused on making effective tourism resources by taking advantage of local cultural resources and nature. Therefore, this study examined the practical case to take advantage of the natural environment for sightseeing and explored the possibility of ‘natural storytelling’ for the place. To this end, reflecting on the relationship between man and nature academically, the concept of ‘natural storytelling’ are discussed. In a case study of Jeju island, we could draw out implications by examining the practice of ‘natural storytelling’.

공간 스토리텔링은 공간의 이야기를 찾거나, 또는 새로운 이야기를 부여함으로써 보다 많은 사람이 공간을 찾아오고, 공간에 얽힌 이야기에 공감하고, 새로운 경험을할 수 있도록 격려하기 위한 것이다. 특히 지역문화를 전제로 한 공간 스토리텔링은 공감의 폭을 넓혀 적극적인 참여를 격려할 수 있기 때문에 공간 체험의 밀도가 깊어질 수 있다는 장점이 있다. 본 연구에서는 지역의 문화자원을 활용하여 자연환경을 보다 효과적으로 관광자원화 하는데 초점을 두고, 자연환경을 성공적으로 활용한 실제 사례를 검토해 봄으로써 지역 문화자원 기반 자연형 스토리텔링의 가능성을 탐색해 보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 인간과 자연의 관계에 대한 성찰을 바탕으로 자연형 스토리텔링의 개념에 대해 이론적으로 논의하였고, 제주도를 대상으로 지역 문화자원을 기반으로 한 자연형 스토리텔링의 적용 사례를 검토하여 시사점을 도출하고자 하였다.
