Development for empowerment instrument for university students with disabilities

The purpose of this study was to develop an instrument for measuring the empowerment instrument for university students with disabilities. The process of instrument development was completed in three phases. The first, second phases involved making items I conducted inducted method with 15 university students with disabilities, writing an initial pool of 53 items and reviewing the items for revision and deletion. These steps were taken to provide the evidence of content-related validity, and to reduce a number of items for the third phase of this study. The third goal of third phase was, through item analysis, to determine the most appropriate items for empowerment instrument for university students with disabilities. In order to achieve the goal, the pilot test were taken. The pilot test was conducted with 3 special education professor to determine an item response format. For the third phases, 101 university students with disabilities in this survey. To examine the reliability and validity of the empowerment instrument for university students with disabilities. It was proved to be the reliability through Cronbach α , this is showed internal reliability. And then, for proving the validity of the instrument, confirmatory factor analysis was used. Therefore 6 factors, self-cognition, self-esteem, Self-efficacy, disability, ability was proved with IES . For this study, statistical method was used as follows: 1. The value of coefficient alpha for final 28 items instrument was .87, and the sub scale alpha ranged from .79-.90. These values were quite adequate according to standard. 2. The result of exploratory factor provided the evidence of construct validity for empowerment instrument for university students with disabilities, as 6-factor model was determined to be a resonable solution to the response data. 3. As a result of confirmatory factor analysis, empowerment instrument for university students with disabilities was consisted of 6 factors and 28items. The correlations among all factors were significant. These procedures verified the construct validity. 4. The relation between this instrument and IES was highly related by concurrent evidence(r=.71).

본 연구는 장애대학생의 임파워먼트 수준을 측정할 수 있는 검사도구를 개발하는데 목적이 있 다. 본 연구에서 개발한 검사도구는 선행연구 분석과 장애대학생을 대상으로 실시된 개방형 질문지 를 통해 35문항의 예비문항을 선정하고, 장애대학생 15인과 장애대학생이 소속된 특수교육 관련 학 과 교수 5인을 대상으로 문항의 명확성, 읽기 및 반응의 용이성을 탐색하여 28문항으로 정리되었다. 이러한 과정을 통해 28문항의 5점 척도로 작성된 검사도구는 장애대학생 101명을 대상으로 타당화 과정을 거쳤다. 본 검사도구의 신뢰도는 Cronbach α값으로 내적일관성신뢰도를 구하였으며, 타당도 는 주성분분석과 배리맥스 회전 방법으로 탐색적 요인분석으로 구인타당도를 검증하였다. 요인분석 결과, 개인역량, 효능감, 장애수용, 영향력, 자기결정력 대인관계 능력의 6요인이 추출되었다. 본 검 사도구의 전체 신뢰도는 .93으로 높게 나타났으며 6요인에 대한 신뢰도는 .79∼.90으로 나타났다. 또 한 본 검사도구와 IES와의 전체 상관은 .71로 높았으며 하위 요인간 상관분석을 한 결과 .40∼.71로 본 검사도구의 공인근거는 높은 편으로 해석되었다.
