Generally, naedeureum is referred as ‘the beginning melodies’ before performing ‘pansori’, ‘sinawi’, and ‘nongak’. This paper aimed to study the meaning of naedeureum through analyzing the aspect of naedeureum of gayageum sanjo. This study examined the aspect and role of the first jangdan of each jangdan and the beginning melodies of jinyangjo based on a variety of gayageum sanjo by Kim, juk-pa, Choi, ok-sam, Seong, geum-ryun, Kang, tae-hong, Kim, byung-ho, and Jeong, nam-hee. Also, it explored the range of naedeureum. As a result, the first gak of naedeureum presents the contents of hanbae and butchimsae in the relation of jangdan. Although the melodies of naedeureum include sigimsae, they are not enough to realize the musical elements and characteristics. For this reason, the naedeureum of gayageum sanjo should be presented from the first gak to 2~4 gak for understanding the music. Thus, through understanding these aspects and roles of the naedeureum of gayageum sanjo, the musical characteristics of the music expressing its improvisation can be applied to compose the new melodies.

본 연구는 산조의 내드름 양상을 분석하고 이를 통해 내드름의 의미를 고찰하는데 목적을 두었다 . 가야금 산조 중 김죽파 ․ 최옥삼 ․ 성금련 ․ 강태홍 ․ 김병호 ․ 정남희제 등을 중심으로 하여 각 장단의 제 1 각을추출하여 가락의 양상 및 역할을 살펴보고 , 제 1 장 이후 ( 제 2 장단부터 ) 시작가락의 양상 및 역할을 살펴보았다 . 또 , 내드름의 범위에 대해서도 고찰하였다 . 산조 내드름의 양상을 분석한 결과 , 내드름의 제 1 각은 한배 , 붙임새 등의 장단과 관련된 정보를 제공하고 있고 가락에 있어서는 시김새가 등장하고 있지만 다른 음악적인 요소나 특징을 파악하기에는 부족하였다 . 가야금 산조의 내드름은 제 1 각만으로 내드름의 장단과 가락의 기본적인 정보를 예시해준다고 하기는부족하므로 여섯 유파간의 차이는 보이지만 적어도 제 2~4 각의 가락 즉 한 단락 정도를 살펴야만 악곡에대한 이해가 가능하리라고 본다 . 제 1 각은 장단의 정보를 알려주고 제 2 각 이후에는 시김새 , 가락의 진행등을 통해 가락 및 조의 중심을 잡아주는 가락을 연주해야 한다 . 따라서 내드름의 의미와 역할 특성을제대로 이해한다면 산조의 즉흥성을 살리는 것과 동시에 이를 통한 가락 창작에까지 그 효용성을 넓힐수 있을 것이다. 본 연구에서는 가야금 산조의 내드름만으로 한정하였으나 , 앞으로 내드름 연구가 다양한 영역에서 이루어지길 기대한다.
