The purpose of this study was to develop and to validate the Academic Resiliency Scale for Elementary School Students(ARSESS). The final scale included 15 items consisting of 3 sub-factors, emotional resiliency, cognitive resiliency, and performance resiliency. A total of 676 5th and 6th grade elementary school students participated in this study. Data were analyzed using SPSS 23.0 and AMOS 22.0 program. Pearson correlation, reliability, and exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses using structural equation model were executed. The results showed that the model fit indexes of TLI, CFI, RMSEA, and χ² value were satisfied with the criteria for the fit indices. The overall reliability of Cronbach's α for the ARSESS was .889 and the reliabilities of 3 sub-factors ranged from .737 to .886. The final ARSESS can serve as valid and reliable measure for the academic resiliency for elementary school students. Implications for future research are suggested.

본 연구는 목적은 초등학생용 학업적 탄력성 척도(ARSESS: Academic Resilience Scale for Elementary School Students)를 개발하여 타당화를 하는데 있다. 먼저, 초등학생용 학업적 탄력성 예비척도 개발을 위하여 국내외 연구와 전문가 검토를 토대로 세 가지 차원을 설정하였으며, 각 차원에 포함되는 문항을 개발하였다. 3 개의 차원은 인지적 탄력성, 정서적 탄력성, 수행적 탄력성이며, 총 18문항의 예비척도를 구축하였다. 이를 K도에 위치한 2개 초등학교 5, 6학년 총 279명을 대상으로 실시하여 예비척도에 대한 탐색적 요인분석 결과 요인 부하량이 .50이상인 총 16개 문항의 양호도를 확인하였고, 3개 하위요인의 총 설명변량은 67.11%로 나타났다. 다음으로 최종 척도의 타당화 검증을 위해 D시에 소재한 3개 초등학교 5, 6학년 377명을 대상으로 실시하여, 구조방정식 모형을 활용한 확인적 요인분석과 신뢰도 분석을 하였고, 공인타당도 검증을 위해 학업적 효능감과 자기주도학습능력과의 상관관계를 조사하였다. 최종 ARSESS의 전체 신뢰도 Cronbach α는 .935로 나타났으며, 하위요인들의 신뢰도 범위는 .85에서 .94로 양호한 수준을 보였고, 최종 ARSESS의 요인구조 적합도 지수인 χ2/df, CFI, TLI, RMSEA가 수용 가능한 기준치를 충족시켜 구조적으로 적합한 모형으로 판명되었다. 본 척도개발의 시사점과 추후연구를 위한 논의점을 제시하였다.
