University Chapel is on the crisis caused by college restructuring and the importance for the consumer-oriented education. In order to overcome the crisis, the key is to find out the best way to operate the Chapel with enhancing evangelization as well as increasing students’ educational satisfaction of university Chapel. In this backdrop, the purpose of this study is to analyze the chapel operating system by applying Chapel-EdQUAL which is to measure the 선교와 신학 39집educational quality of university chapel using IPA(Importance- Performance Analysis). Importance - Performance Analysis(IPA) is an analytical model showing visually by placing factors in the four quadrants using the average coef cients of the database. IPA results show that which factors are well managed or which ones need to be modi ed. Based on the results, some new Chapel strategies could be built for the future directions of Backseok University Chapel. Researchers hope IPA can become one of the very useful tools to the people who want to improve Chapel operating quality and get some new ideas how to manage the Chapel better than right now.

구조조정과 수요자 중심 교육시대에서 위기에 처한 기독교대학의 채플 이 가야할 길은 쉽지는 않지만 분명해 보인다. 그것은 대학채플이 채플의 원래 목적인 복음을 전하면서도 채플의 수요자인 학생들에게 교육만족도 를 높여주는 것이다. 이러한 배경을 바탕으로 본 연구의 목적은 채플교육 품질(Chapel-EdQUAL)과 중요도-성취도 분석(IPA)을 적용하여 채플의 운 영시스템을 분석하는 것이다. 중요도-성취도 분석(IPA)은 대학채플의 현 황을 보다 거시적이고 조직적으로 측정하기 위해 본 연구자들이 선행 개발 한 채플교육품질 척도를 통계적으로 적용하여 대학채플 개선전략을 단순 하면서도 구체적으로 보여주는 분석모델이다. 이 모델은 기술통계 차원에 서 자료의 평균을 이용하여 그 내용을 4사분면에 위치시켜 분석결과를 시 각적으로 나타내는 분석방법이다. 이 분석방식을 적용했을 때, IPA도표를 통해서 채플의 수요자인 학생들이 대학채플의 구성요소들 중에서 무엇을 중요하게 여기며(중요도) 그것이 채플의 전 과정들을 통해서 어떻게 실행되 었다고 느끼는 지(성취도)를 보다 구체적으로 파악할 수 있고, 그 현실에 맞 추어 새로운 백석대학교 관광학부 채플의 전략을 마련할 수 있었다. 대학 채플 IPA방식이 대학채플의 만족도와 복음화율 향상을 고민하는 다른 채 플 운영자들에게도 의미 있는 하나의 대안이 되기를 희망한다.
