The purpose of this study is to improve moral conduct and self-esteem, self. Over some years, self-esteem has become an established theme in psychological literature. But Self-esteem is an important factor in moral life. So moral education for self-esteem of middle student should focus on moral consciousness. We try to analyse concept of self-esteem, self, self, growth of 2th grade`s morality textbooks of 2009 moral curriculum. Also, it attempt to the reconceptualization of self-esteem, self, self-growth. Because it is important to develop moral life and high level self-esteem to middle student. We study that method of moral education to improve moral conduct and reconceptualization of self-esteem for middle student.

자기심리학에서 자기존중의식 개념은 대체적으로 자기를 수용하고 인정하는 것뿐만 아니라 자기를 성장시키고자 하는 의지를 존중하는 의식이다. 타자를 배제한 ‘나’의 의식 혹은 타자로부터 분리된 ‘나’라는 의식에 근거한 자기존중의식은 왜곡된 자기애의 범주에서 벗어날 수 없기 때문이라고 본다. 자기존중의식은 대상과의 관계에서 성숙된다. 도덕과 교육에서도 자기존중의식은 도덕적 삶의 동기로 작용하는 의식이다. 도덕과 교과서에 자기존중의식 개념이 서술되어 있지만 자기를 수용 인정하는 특성은 부각된 반면 자기성장 의지에 대한 언급은 미흡하다. 이에 우리는 도덕과 교과서에 제시된 자기존중의식 개념을 분석하고, 이를 근거로 자기존중의식을 성장시킬 수 있는 도덕과 수업의 실제를 고찰하였다.
