The purpose of the present study was to examine whether SIRS-2 developed to detect malingering is possibly applicable to Korean population. The 48 criminal offenders' SIRS-2 data and M-FAST data were used to analyze the reliability and validity of the SIRS-2. The probable malingering group that was categorized as feigning and indeterminate according to SIRS-2 protocol obtained scores above 6 on M-FAST. On the other hand, The non-probable malingering group that was classified as genuine patients obtained scores below 6 on M-FAST. To further examine the utility of cutoff scores of primary scales, two groups were divided into feigning and genuine and their mean total scores of M-FAST were compared. Results indicated that the M-FAST score of the probable malingering group was significantly higher than that of the genuine group. Finally the implication and limitation of this study were discussed for the future research.
