his is a study to explore the direction of Christian unification education for Korean church. For this, it tried to re-conceptualize the unification as a ‘process of social integration’ firstly, and also re-conceptualize the unification education. Finally it suggested how Korean Christian church can plan and practice the Christian unification education. It reconceptualized the unification itself, not only as a institutional one but also social one comprises human, culture, value system etc. From this point of view it found that the unification is not the moment but a process, that the purpose of unification is not merely the overcome of division but also the harmony and fusion, and that the subject of unification is not only the government but also various civilian and non-governmental organization. It also found that the concept of unification as a social process requires the paradigm sift of unification education in terms of the significance, purpose, contents, subjects and objects of unification education. It suggested a direction of Church’s Christian unification education through the dialogue with the paradigm of unification education for social integration following, namely the realizing Kingdom of God as the purpose of church’s Christian unification education, the formative process of integrative competence as the curriculum, and the wholistic methods and integrative ministry including liturgy, kerygma, koinonia, diajonia, and didache as the method of church’s Christian unification education.

이 논문은 한국교회가 지향해야 할 기독교 통일 교육의 방향을 모색한 논문이다. 이를 위해 본고는 먼저 통일 개념 자체를 ‘사회적 통합’의 관점에서 재개념화 하고, 그를 바탕으로 통일교육의 방향을 재개념화 하였다. 그리고 사회적 통합을 위해서 한국교회가 나아가야 할 기독교통일교육의 방향을 제안하였다. 이 연구는 먼저 독일 통일 이후의 사회적 통합의 과정을 살펴봄으로써, 통일은 제도적, 정치적, 통일만이 아니라, 사람과, 문화와 가치관이 하나로 통합되는 사회적 통합을 포괄하는 것이어야 한다고 재개념화 하고, 그를 바탕으로 통일은 순간이 아닌 과정, 통일의 궁극적 목적은 단순한 ‘분단의 극복’을 넘어 ‘조화와 융합’, 또한 통일의 주체는 국가나 정부만이 아니라, 다양한 민간단체들이라는 것을 발견하였다. 본고는 또한 사회적 통합으로서의 통일개념은 통일교육의 패러다임, 즉 통일교육의 필요성, 목적, 내용, 교육의 대상 및 주체 등 전반에 걸친 전환을 요청한다는 것을 발견하였다. 위의 고찰을 바탕으로 본고는 사회적 통합을 바탕으로 하는 통일교육의 패러다임과 기독교와의 대화를 통해 교회의 기독교통일 교육의 방향을 다음과 같이 제안하였다. 교회의 통일교육의 목적은 하나님 나라 구현이며, 기독교통일교육의 과정은 ‘통합 역량 형성과정’이어야 하고, 또한 통일교육의 방법은 전인적이고 통합적인 방법이어야 함과 아울러, 예배, 친교, 선교, 교육, 봉사를 아우르는 통일목회로 나아가야 한다.
