Until now the Chinese musical notation(記譜法) changed with the times: e.g. “wenzipu(文字譜),” “jianzipu(減字譜),” “guansepu(管色譜),” “suzipu(俗字譜)”, “gongchepu(工尺譜),” “quxianpu (曲線譜),” “lülüpu(律呂譜),” “gongshangpu(宮商 譜)” and “zhifapu(指法譜).” There are many different types as well. As the musical notation, which has been used differently according to the times, had different forms, interpretation of the musical scores of the previous generation is used as a very important means of understanding ancient music. Studies on ancient Chinese musical scores have not been systematically organized as there have been a great variety of opinions on their names. Also, the interpretations(解讀) and transcriptions(譯譜) of the various signs of ancient musical notes have been regarded as important research topics until now, and significant research results have been produced, but theoretical explanation and organization of the studies on ancient musical scores can still be said to be in their infancy. In other words, as it can be said that systematic organization and theoretical interpretation of ancient Chinese musical scores are essential, this paper aims to lay the foundation for such tasks based on various investigations and explanations.

지금까지 중국의 기보법(記譜法)은 시대에 따라 “문자보(文字譜)”, “감자보(減字譜)”, “관색보 (管色譜)”, “속자보(俗字譜)”, “공척보(工尺譜)”, “곡선보(曲線譜)”, “율려보(律呂譜)”, “궁상보(宮商譜)”, “지법보(指法譜)” 등 각기 다르게 나타났으며, 그 종류도 매우 다양한 형태로 되어 있다. 시대에 따라 다르게 사용된 기보법은 서로 다른 형태로 되어 있기 때문에 전대(前代)의 악보에 대한 해석은 고대음악을 이해하는 데에 매우 중요한 수단으로 사용되고 있다. 중국의 고악보에 대한 연구는 그 명명(命名)부터 매우 다양한 의견을 제시하여 체계적으로 정리 되지 못한 상황에 처해 있다. 또한 지금까지 고악보의 각종 부호에 대한 해독(解讀)과 역보(譯譜) 는 주요한 연구대상으로 여겨졌고, 적지 않는 연구 성과를 얻었으나, 고악보 연구에 대한 이론적인 설명과 정리는 아직 걸음마 단계에 불과하다 할 수 있다. 다시 말해, 중국 고악보 연구에 대한 체계적인 정리와 이론적인 해석이 매우 필요한 작업이라 할 수 있으므로 본 논문에서는 이러한 작업을 목적으로 다양한 조사와 설명을 통해 이를 달성할 수 있도록 기초 작업을 마련하려고 한다.
