Jung-Yul Kim The Korean Public Administration achieved a compressed growth which would be difficult to find its past examples over half of a century after the establishment of the government. After the development, however, it has not established its own identity and future properly. This study, therefore, takes an opportunity to fine its future through our self-directed reflexivity on the academic characteristic for the Korea Public Administration. Especially this study takes notice the fact that the crisis of the Korean Public Administration which is recently magnified is closely linked to normative, scientific, and general academic characteristics etc. The analytical research results of this study which reflect those above are as in the following. First of all, from a normative aspect, we have to foster philosophical and humanistic education which is directly related to the realization of administrative values in order to solve the problem of weakened publicity. Second, from a scientific standpoint, we need to make an effort to develop the theories corresponding with Korean contexts in order to induce an activation of Korean administrative theories. Third, for a general academic aspect, we seek for solution to strengthen the competitiveness of Public Administration that could overwhelm adjacent academics. After all, the Korean Public Administration community which has been insensitive to different degrees of changes is responsible for the academic crisis of the Korean administrative studies. Therefore, we all, as a partner in guilt, are always through about combining self-reflection with collective reflection.
