This research investigated the possibility of humanity and liberal arts class-related local volunteering activity through examples of activity of ‘humanity talent donation team’. This activity led local elementary, middle and high school students to have interest in humanities and planted a positive view to college volunteering to local community. Team members could get the effect of relearning the humanity and liberal arts class, realize the ‘sharing spirit of community’ while teaching students from the local alienated class and have the time to meditate the purpose and value of humanity and liberal arts. Especially the biggest result might be that it became the chance for team members to think of their future and raise their self-recognition and self-esteem. This self-affirmation will play the central role in discovering the significance of college life and developing the responsibility as a social ego. In the future too, colleges should keep going to realize the ultimate goal of college education, cultivation of active and responsible men of ability, while raise the image of college in the community by taking part in the practical field of education as a group of community.

본고에서는 ‘인문재능기부단’ 활동 사례를 통해 인문교양수업과 연계한 지역봉사활동의 가능성에 대해 살펴보았다. 본 팀은 이번 활동을 통해 지역의 초중등 학생들에게 인문학에 대한 관심을 이끌어낼 수 있었으며, 지역사회에도 대학봉사에 대한 긍정적인 인식을 심어줄 수 있었다. 또한 팀원들은 인문교양 수업을 재학습하는 효과를 얻었을 뿐 아니라 지역의 소외 계층 학생들을 지도하면서 ‘나눔의 공동체정신’을 실현하고, 인문교양의 목적과 가치에 대해 성찰하는 시간을 가질 수 있었다. 특히 팀원들이 자신의 미래를 주체적으로 고민하면서 자아인식, 자아 존중감을 상승시키는 계기가 되었다는 것이 본 활동의 가장 큰 성과라 할 것이다. 이러한 자기긍정은 대학생활에 대한 의미 발견과 사회적 자아로서의 책임감을 키워주는 데도 핵심적인 역할을 담당할 것이라 생각한다. 앞으로도 대학이 공동체 조직으로서 실질적인 교육의 현장에 동참함으로써 지역사회에 대학의 이미지를 제고하는 한편, 능동적이고 책임감 있는 인재 양성이라는 대학교육의 궁극적 목표를 실현해 가야 할 것으로 본다.
