The purpose of this study was to test the effects of a college career course (‘Life Design and Career’) on career self-efficacy, career beliefs, and life satisfaction. In order to achieve the objective, contents of curriculum were developed on the basis of previous research. The experimental group, composed of 38 college students, attended ‘Life Design and Career’, and the control group, composed of 37 college students, attended another liberal art lecture. To test the effects of the college career course, this study used a career self-efficacy scale, career beliefs scale, career beliefs and life satisfaction. All the collected data were analyzed with independent-samples t-test and ANCOVA. The results show that career self-efficacy, career beliefs, and life satisfaction displayed a significant difference, which depends on attending a college career course. In the future, the result of this study can be used by base data of college career course.

본 연구의 목적은 대학교 신입생을 대상으로 ‘인생설계와 진로’라는 진로교육 교과목을 운영한 후 신입생의 진로결정 자기효능감, 진로신념, 삶의 만족도에 미치는 효과를 살펴보는 데 있다. 이를 위해 서울소재 K대학교 1학년 이공계 학생 중 ‘인생설계와 진로’를 수강하는 학생은 실험집단(38명)으로, 기타 교양과목을 수강하는 1학년 학생은 통제집단(37명)으로 선정하였다. 실험집단은 진로교육 교과목인 ‘인생설계와 진로’ 수업을 받았으며, 통제집단은 다른 교양과목을 수강하였다. 효과성 검증을 위해서 진로결정 자기효능감검사, 진로신념검사, 삶의 만족도검사를 사용하였으며, 수집된 자료는 독립표본 t검증과 공분산분석(ANCOVA)을 실시하였다. 그 결과 진로교육 교과목 수강여부가 진로결정 자기효능감, 진로신념, 그리고 삶의 만족도에서 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 확인하였다. 이와 같은 연구결과를 통하여 볼 때 진로교육 교과목인 ‘인생설계와 진로’를 대학교 신입생에게 적용한 수업은 대학생에게 진로결정, 진로신념, 삶의 만족도 등에 긍정적인 변화를 줄 수 있음을 알 수 있다.
