The purpose of this study was to develop an assessment tool with established validity and reliability for assessing infants’ sociality during musical activities. A total of 90 infants — 30 for the 1st test and 60 for the subsequent test — were involved in sequential tests during a three month period. A total of 133 testing items were first established based on pertinent literature; of these 133 items, we finalized 99 items that included 41 items involved with social interactions, 23 items focused on self-concepts, and 35 items that observed self regulation (all of these items involved the presence of music). These final items were selected based off of statistical analysis from the tests we ran during the three month period. Every final testing item met the criteria for statistical validity and reliability. Therefore, this preliminary assessment may be a useful tool for assessing infants’ sociality in the context of musical activities.

이 연구는 음악활동에서 보여지는 유아의 사회성 평가도구 개발을 위한 예비연구이다. 대상은 1차 검사에 30명, 2차 검사에 60명, 총 90명의 유아였으며 연구의 기간은 3개월이었다. 평가도구개발은 관련 문헌 분석으로 평가 문항을 구성하고, 구성한 문항을 유아를 대상으로 두 차례 사회성 검사를 실시하였으며, 수집된 데이터를 통계 분석하는 절차를 가졌다. 경험적 분석은 문항양호도 검증으로 실시되었으며 이를 위해 1차 2차 검사로 순서적으로 진행하였다. 관련 문헌 분석을 통해 구성한 133개 문항은 경험적 분석 과정을 통해 41개 타인과의 상호작용 문항, 23개 자아개념 문항, 35개 자기규제 문항으로 최종 정리되어 총 99개의 문항으로 재구성하였다. 이 연구의 평가 문항들은 체계적인 이론적 분석과 경험적 분석을 통해 신뢰성과 타당성이 있는 것으로 확인되었기에 향후 유아의 사회성을 평가하는 기초 자료로 사용될 수 있을 것이다.
