It is very interesting that modern pastors have heightened interest in education ministry. This gives the right principles of the Bible to the Christian believers who are exposed to worldly culture and their commitment can be regarded as the representation of the real identity of the church in mundane society to achieve Christian culture on earth. Looking at the early Korean Christian history, it is an obvious fact that pastors ministered to the church members with a pivotal focus on Christian education. In particular, the role of education in the church is also important in modern times. According to E. Thurneysen, the ministry calls for the preaching the Word of God to individuals in the church and the caring for the spiritual life of the Chrisian believers. This can be understood as requesting the importance of education in the church in the contemporary modern secularized society. Therefore, it is natural that Christian education is discussed in relation to the ministry, rather than being handled only in the context of general education. The correlation of Christian education and ministry should be discussed in the theoretical horizons of practical theology because they are carried out in the church, by the church, for the church. The ministry can be considered as the ministry of conversion to the Christian faith in Jesus Christ and also be defined as a part of the nurture of upbringing saints through the ministry of the Word of God. A pastor is the one who has the mission of stewardship entrusted with the work of Christ to serve the Church of God. Church has an essential role in the attainment of salvation of the souls to mature manhood. Christian education in terms of Christian educational ministry is based on its fundamental aims and objectives for the saints to offer the glory to God. One crucial verse says, “we come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to maturity, to the measure of the full stature of Christ (Eph. 4:13)”. In this paper, I discuss the issue of conversion through Christian education in the perspective of education ministry that is above mentioned. My research helps pastors to be aware of the direct relationship between Christian education and the conversion. I hope that there will be a significant qualitative and quantitative revival of the Korean church in the future.

최근 목회자들에게 있어서 기독교교육과 더불어 교회교육에 대한 관심이 있는 것은 교육목회적인 관점에서 매우 바람직한 현상이라 할 수 있다. 이것은 세속문화의 영향아래 있는 크리스챤들을 올바른 성경의 기초위 에 굳게 세움으로서 세상 속에서 교회 본연의 자리를 단단하게 하고 그리스도의 삶을 이 땅에 롤모델로 삼고 자 하는 의지의 표현이라고 이해된다. 한국의 초기 기독교 역사를 살펴보면 목회자들이 기독교교육에 큰 비 중을 가지고 목회사역을 감당했던 것은 분명한 사실이다. 현 시대는 특히 교회에서 행하는 교육의 역할이 중 요하게 요구되는 현실에 직면해 있다. 투르나이젠(E. Thurneysen)은 목회는 교회 안에서 하나님의 말씀을 개 개인에게 전달하여, 성도들의 영적인 삶을 돌보는 것 이라는 것을 강조 하였다. 이것은 시대적 상황 속에 사 람들을 대상으로 하는 교회 내에서 교육의 중요성을 요구하고 있는 것으로 이해 할 수 있다. 그러므로 기독교교육은 일반적인 교육의 범주에서 만 취급될 것이 아니라 목회와 관련하여 논의 되어지는 것 은 당연하다. 그리고 기독교교육과 목회의 상관성은 교회에 그 실천의 터를 두고 있기 때문에 이론적으로 실 천신학의 지평에서 설명되어져야 한다. 목회는 하나님께서 택하신 성도들을 예수 그리스도에게로 인도하는 회심사역으로 간주 할 수 있고, 또한 그 들을 하나님의 말씀을 통하여 양육하게 하는 양육사역의 일환이라고 정의될 수 있다. 목회자는 그리스도의 사역을 위임받아 하나님의 교회를 섬기는 청지기의 사명을 가지고 있는 자이다. 교회의 역할은 사람들을 구 원에 이르게 하고 그들을 성숙케 하는 두 가지의 본질적인 과제를 가지고 있다. 성경 에베소서 4장 13절에 “ 우리가 다 하나님의 아들을 믿는 것과 아는 일에 하나가 되어 온전한 사람을 이루어 그리스도의 장성한 분량 이 충만한 데까지 이르리니”라는 말씀을 근거로 하여 교육목회적인 관점에서의 기독교교육은 모든 성도들이 하나님께 영광 돌리는데 그 근원적인 목표와 목적이 있다. 본 논문은 상기에서 언급한 교육목회적인 관점에서 기독교교육을 통한 회심의 문제를 논의 하고자 한다.
