This study introduces Mobile Orchestra, a music playing media art made with mobile phones after 1984. We analyze and divide ringtone from the mobilephone to extract the musical element. Musical element is recreated to national anthem player for 45 participants of Incheon Asian game. Especially, we suggest the sound extraction and communication method between computer and mobilephone. Also harmonize the old and new mobilephone to make a light and sound installation for live performance. Finally, we want to observe the response of various audiences from 45 countries. The audience can predict the future through the past and the present encounter. Furthermore, was a chance to prove the unity of Asians through the same reaction.

본 연구에서는 「모바일 오케스트라(Mobile Orchestra)」를 통해 1984년 이후 국내 출시되었던 무선 단말기 및 휴대 전화기에서 나오는 벨소리의 특성을 분석하고 나누어, 각각의 음악적 요소를 추출해 악기로 시연해 보았다. 추출된 요소들은 다시 재 가공되어 2014년 인천 아시안게임 홍보관에서 45개 참가국의 국가 연주 작품으로 전시 되었다. 특히 컴퓨터와 휴대폰간의 통신 혹은 소리 추출에 대한 방법을 제시하고 오래된 휴대폰들과 최신 스마트폰들을 연결하여 시대의 흐름을 어우르는 느낌을 가진 빛과 음악의 퍼포먼스 장치로 제작해 보고 다양한 관람객들의 반응에 대해 살펴보고자 하였다. 작품을 통해 45개국에서 온 관람객들이 과거와 현재가 조우하는 것을 통해 미래를 예측해 볼 수 있고, 더 나아가 동일시 된 반응을 통한 아시아인들의 통일성을 확인하는 기회가 되었다.
