Heuksan-do is one of the most important stopover sites for migratory passerines on the East-Asian flyway. Migratory Birds Center of the National Park Research Institute has been banded birds during migration seasons to understand annual fluctuation in population size and the pattern of arrival dates from autumn of 2010 to autumn of 2013. During the seven seasons, we banded a total of 115 species 15,296 individuals and the peak time of arrival on the study island was early May and mid October. Also, five species in the Emberiza group, which is the most abundant banded taxon in the study site, showed that the mean arrival dates were significantly different among years in both seasons in all studied species. Annual trends of arrival dates and population size should be more accumulated and investigated in the future. Long-term data on bird banding and networking among countries on the flyway will support confident information on trends of migratory routes and behaviors.

다도해해상국립공원 흑산도는 동남아시아를 이동하는 참새목 조류의 주요 중간기착지로, 본 연구지에 도래 하는 철새 개체군의 연간 변동과 시기별 포획 자료를 분석하고자 2010년 가을부터 2013년 가을까지 동일한 장소에 서 가락지부착조사를 실시하였다. 연구기간 내 포획된 종은 총 115종 15,296개체였으며, 5월 초순과 10월 중순에 가장 많은 개체수가 도래하였다. 또한 멧새과 조류의 이동생태를 파악하기 위해 연도별 변화를 분석한 결과, 종별 로 도래시기에 대한 경향이 다양하게 나타났다. 이러한 연도별 편차와 도래시기 및 개체수 차이에 관해서는 보다 더 장기적인 자료의 축적이 필요할 것으로 판단되며, 앞으로도 정량적이고 지속적인 가락지부착조사를 통해 철새들 의 이동시기와 경로에 대한 신뢰성 있는 자료를 제공할 것이다.
