The purposes of this study were to investigate the educational needs analysis for intellectual property protection. The study was carried out through on survey method and naturalistic inquiry as quantitative research and qualitative research. Quantitative research used to Borich’s formula for analysis collected 46 data. And qualitative research interviewed 6 experts. Major findings of this study were as follows;First, the educations needs for intellectual property protection of invention teachers were high for elementary school and middle school student on attitude and for high school student on knowledge. Second, the result of expert’s perception through interview of invention teachers were connection between curriculum and contents for Intellectual Property Protection, curriculum for teacher and to improve environment of education. 20, ‘renewable energy’, ‘future technology’ and ‘robot technology’. 본 연구의 목적은 학교 교육에서의 지식재산보호교육의 진단과 활용을 위해 발명교사의 지식재산보 호교육에 관한 교육적 요구를 탐구하기 위한 것이다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위하여, 지식재산보호 교육에 대한 교육적 요구를 분석하기 위해 전문가를 대상으로 설문지를 실시하여 교육 요구도를 산 출하였으며, 또한 자연주의적 탐구(naturalistic inquiry)를 통해 현장 교사의 목소리를 통해 질적으로 해석하였다. 이러한 목적과 내용에 따른 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 지식재산보호교육의 교육 요구 분석을 위한 지식재산보호교육의 인식에 대한 설문조사 결과, 지식재산보호교육은 초등학교와 중학교에서는 태도교육을 중심으로, 고등학교에서는 지식교육 중 심으로 이루어지는 것이 바람직하다는 인식을 갖고 있었다. 둘째, 발명교사 인터뷰를 분석한 결과 자연주의적 탐구를 통해 학교 교육과정과의 연계, 교사 교육과 정, 교육 여건의 성숙에서 해석할 수 있었다. 또한 교과와의 연계를 살펴보면, 기술․가정 교과, 미술 교과에서 교육되고 있었으며, 비교과 활동에서는 창의적 체험활동을 통해 진행되고 있었다. 교과 편 성 상 교과의 시간이 부족한 관계로 자율활동, 진로활동, 동아리 활동에서 지식재산보호 교육 및 특 허 교육을 하고 있었다. 이러한 연구의 진단 결과는 실천적 논의의 실증적 자료로서 앞으로 지식재산보호교육을 위해 중요 한 참조와 표준적 사례로서 가치를 지니고 기여할 것이다.
