The purpose of this study was to develop Multi-cultural Education program using appropriate Technology. Appropriate technology has a lot of cultural fusion elements. In addition It is easy to configure as a activity that can lead to the student's interest. Because of this, Multi-cultural Education program using appropriate Technology is possible to induce voluntary participation and interest of students in the course of laborious activities, It also provides a means to enjoy the process of culture fusion naturally chance. In this study, we developed a three-stage model of program preparation, development, improvement. In the preparation stage, Examined the theoretical background to appropriate technology, multi-cultural education, and training programs for the development model. In the development stage, The program was developed in accordance with the criteria of the program design and development process. In the improvement stage, The validity of the program was verified by an expert. The developed activities subject of multi-cultural education program is consists of ‘Life-saving straw man’, ‘Making of Love Bicycle bike’, ‘Making solar cooking equipment’, ‘Making our homes safe’. In activities, we can understand another country's culture of through appropriate technology are related to water shortages, population issues, geographic environment, climate. In this study, we present as an example the 'Making of Love Bicycle bike’

이 연구의 목적은 적정기술을 활용하여 청소년 다문화교육프로그램을 개발하는데 있다. 적정기술은 문화 융합적 요소를 많이 가지고 있으면서도 학생의 흥미를 유발할 수 있는 노작활동으로 구성하기 가 용이하다는 특성을 가지고 있다. 이 때문에 적정기술을 활용한 다문화교육프로그램은 노작활동 의 과정 속에서 학생의 자발적 참여와 관심을 유도하고 자연스럽게 문화 융합의 과정을 체험할 수 있 는 기회를 제공할 수 있다는 장점을 가지고 있다. 이 연구에서는 준비, 개발, 개선의 3단계 모형을 구안하여 청소년 다문화 교육프로그램을 개발하였 다. 프로그램 준비단계에서는 적정기술, 다문화교육, 교육프로그램 개발 모형에 대해서 이론적 배경 을 살펴보았다. 프로그램 개발단계에서는 프로그램설계의 준거와 개발 절차에 따라 프로그램을 개 발하였다. 프로그램 개선단계에서는 전문가 검토를 통해 프로그램의 타당성을 검증받았다. 개발된 다문화교육프로그램의 활동 주제로는 ‘사람을 살리는 생명의 빨대!’, ‘사랑의 자전거 만들기’, ‘태양열 조리 기구 만들기’, ‘안전한 우리 집을 만들기’가 있다. 각각의 활동 주제에서는 적정기술을 매개로하여 물 부족, 인구문제, 지리환경, 기후 등 우리와 다른 여러 나라의 문화 환경적 특성을 이해 하도록 하였다. 이 연구에서 구체적 예시로 제시한 것은 ‘사랑의 자전거 만들기’ 활동이다.
