The purpose of this study was to search·suggest the projects and development direction required in order for future school evaluation in Korea to become implemented and settled successfully amongst the recent flow of changes in school evaluation. This was done by analyzing current school evaluation execution condition in 17 provincial offices of education. Additionally, the important characteristics of the 2013 school evaluation system was based on along with the current legal assessment of school evaluation in order to compare and analyze the 2013 school evaluation execution condition in 17 provincial offices of education by classifying them into the criteria of tasks per evaluation stage, evaluation period, evaluation method, evaluation territory and distribution, and display and feedback of evaluation results. Lastly, focus was placed on differences between the school evaluation execution for each provincial office of education displayed through the analysis and suggestion made about the requirements and measures needed to successfully implement school evaluation in Korea.

이 연구는 최근 학교평가와 관련된 변화의 흐름 속에서 2013학년도 전국 17개 시·도교육청의 학교평가 편람을 토대로 한 문헌 분석과 학교평가 담당자 면담을 통해 한국의 학교평가 실행 현황을 분석하고, 학교평가의 효과적 실행을 위해 요청되는 향후 과제와 학교평가가 나아가야 할 방향을 홀리스틱적 접근을 통해 탐색하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위한 이론적 탐색으로 우선 한국에 학교평가가 처음 도입된 이후 오늘에 이르기까지 학교평가를 특징에 따라 시기별로 구분하고, 학교평가의 역사 속에서 현재 학교평가의 법적 근거와 주요 특징을 분석하였다. 그리고 나서 전국 17개 시·도교육청의 학교평가 편람을 중심으로 2013학년도 시·도별 학교평가 실행 현황을 평가단계, 평가주기, 평가방법, 평가영역 및 배점 그리고 평가결과의 공개 및 환류 차원에서 비교·분석하였다. 비교·분석한 내용을 토대로 시·도교육청의 학교평가 담당자 대상의 FGI를 통해 한국의 학교평가가 효과적으로 실행되기 위해 요청되는 과제와 나아가야 할 방향들에 대해 탐색하였다.
