This study aimed to investigate the the relationships among persived psychological needs, character and sportpersonship by elementary school students who are taking part in school sport club. In order to accomplish the purpose of this study a survey was conducted with 237 elementary school students in three schools. As for research tools used in this study, the measures of psychological needs by Park(2009), sport character developed by Eum and Seong (2012) and KMSOS developed by Seong (2003) was modified and supplemented as research tools to this study's subject and purposes. Frequency analysis, exploratory factor analysis, reliability analysis, MANOVA, and multiple regression analysis were conducted. The data analyses based on the above have derived the following results. First, the level of participation in sports activities influenced competence, autonomy and relatedness of psychological needs. Second, the psychological needs influenced the confidence, caring, respect and perseverance of character. Third, the psychological needs influenced the other respect, anti-social, and judgment respect of sportpersonship.

본 연구는 학교스포츠클럽에 참가하는 초등학생의 참가 정도에 따른 기본 심리욕구와 스포츠품성 및 스포츠맨십을 분석하는데 그 목적을 두었다. 이를 위해 G시의 3개 초등학교 학생 중 학교스포츠클럽에 참가하는 237명을 대상으로 연구를 진행하였다. 특히, 기본 심리욕구, 스포츠품성 그리고 스포츠맨십 척도를 재구성하여 신뢰도와 타당도를 검증하였다. 이러한 과정을 통해 수집된 자료는 빈도분석, 탐색적 요인분석, 신뢰도 분석, 기술통계, 다변량분산분석(MANOVA) 그리고 다중회귀분석(multiple regression analysis)을 실시하였다. 그 결과, 첫째, 학교스포츠클럽 활동 참여 정도는 학생의 기본 심리욕구 모든 요인(유능감, 자율성, 관계성)에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 기본 심리욕구는 학교스포츠클럽 참가 학생의 스포츠품성 요인(자신감, 배려성, 존중, 인내심)에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 기본 심리욕구는 학교스포츠클럽 참가 학생의 스포츠맨십 요인(상대존중, 반사회, 판정존중)에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.
