Writing should be a community-oriented practice in which we reflect upon ourselves and relocate ourselves among others in some subjective and collective way. The community-oriented writing names a subject of writing 'common existence,' and seeks to cultivate his/her personality and to vitalize his/her community by reconsidering, in terms of the theory of sharing, the idea that writing can be characterized as both subjective and collective. Thus, the community-oriented writing becomes the writing that tries to share on the basis of the subject of writing as common existence. This thesis defines the nature of community as sharing, and then interdisciplinarily explores how the community manifests its own nature as sharing in the following five aspects: grammatical person, narrative identity, common sense, common good, and common space. This enables us to consider the community of writing in terms of three frameworks; (1) the community of writing as a 'common-individual' work in which the subject of writing is always already haunted by the other(ness), (2) writer and his/her community, and (3) small community of writing where the subject can write with and at the same time without his/her colleagues. This, in turn, is followed by the attempt to explain how the community of writing can be established and managed in a proper way.

글쓰기는 자신을 근본적으로 성찰하고, 타자들 속에서 ‘나’를 주체적이면서도 상호적으로 재정위하는 공동체 지향의 실천이어야 한다. 공동체 지향 글쓰기는 ‘공(共)-존재’를 글쓰기의 주체로 호명하면서, 존재와 삶의 ‘나눔’의 원리를 글쓰기의 ‘공동-개별 작업’의 속성과 연동해 인성의 함양과 공동체의 활성화를 도모한다. 공동체 지향 글쓰기는 글쓰기 주체를 ‘공 존재’로 재정위한 토대에서 전개되는 ‘나눔의 글쓰기’이며, 타자와 더불어 가치 있게 살아가는 품성이자 역량으로서 인성을 함양하는 데 기여하고자 하는 글쓰기이다. 본고는 공동체의 본질을 ‘나눔’으로 규정하고, 학제적 탐색을 통해 공동체의 나눔의 양상을 인칭, 이야기적 동일성(서사적 정체성), 공동감각, 공동선, 공동영역(공적 공간) 등의 다섯 가지로 규명하였다. 이를 바탕으로, ‘글쓰기공동체’를 1) 혼자서도 이미 타자와 함께하는 ‘공동- 개별 작업’으로서 글쓰기라는 공동체, 2) 자기와 자기 자신의 공동체, 3) 동료들과 공동으로 함께-각자 글을 쓰는 소규모 글쓰기공동체의 세 의미망으로 규정하고, 각 공동체의 설립과 운영방안에 관해 살펴보았다.
