This study aims to show the correlation between writing on various topics for the mini 'hompy'-short for mini homepage- and the school composition of elementary school students in their senior years, by comparing the samples written in two different ways. For the experiment, subjects were divided into two groups: the ‘experimental group' producing writing samples about given topics on their mini home pages and the ‘controlled group' handwriting about the same topics on paper. Both the experimental group and the control group were asked to produce writing samples on several given topics over 13 weeks and the researcher graded the samples in criteria of ‘generating ideas, organizing ideas, expressions, spelling and spacing'. The grades of the control group who handwrote on paper were found meaningfully higher, but there was no statistical significance between groups. When compared with the grades before the experiment, the experimental group's grades after the experiment exhibited that writing on-line affected their skills of ‘organizing ideas' in a positive direction, while‘spelling and spacing' in the negative direction.

본 연구의 목적은 미니홈페이지의 게시판 기능을 활용하여 제시하는 주제에 맞는 글을 쓰는 활동이 기존의 전통적인 글쓰기 활동과 비교하여 초등학교 고학년 학생들의 작문 활동에 어떤 영향을 미치는지를 알아보는 것이다. 이를 알아보기 위하여 미니홈페이지의 게시판을 이용한 글쓰기 집단과 공책을 이용한 전통적 글쓰기 집단을 각각 실험 집단과 통제 집단으로 구성하였다. 실험 집단과 통제 집단의 글쓰기 점수를 비교한 결과 유의미한 차이는 나타나지 않았다. 그러나 실험 집단의 실험 전과 후의 점수를 비교해 본 결과, 작문 요소 중 ‘내용의 조직’ 면에서는 긍정적인 영향을 주는 것으로, ‘맞춤법·띄어쓰기’ 면에서는 부정적인 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다.
